AIBU to feel sick when I have to listen to two things at once....

Like the tv and the radio at the same time. Or two tv's on in the same room. Or my DP when he turns on the ipad to watch something at full volume when I'm trying to watch Mary Portas make knickers FFS!!!!

It makes me want to puke. I hear snippets of each thing and my tiny brain cant deal with it. (Conversation is fine, I can eavesdrop with the best of them)

AIBU?

I wouldn't say it makes me feel sick but it's certainly annoying ....

Vicky2011 · 15/03/2012 21:57

Am exactly the same, hate working in open plan for the same reason

knittynoodle · 15/03/2012 21:58

It feels like a migraine to me...

I am the same. I also find multitasking very stressful. And two children fussing at me at once very difficult to take.

I've had labyrinthitis, and I've wondered if it is connected.

YANBU, this annoys me but my husband literally can`t hack it, makes him feel queezy. same in pubs/bars with jukebox & gambling machines.

tryingtoleave · 15/03/2012 21:59

Yes, knittynoodle - that's kind of what I was trying to say. A feeling of being off-balance.

SpringHeeledJack · 15/03/2012 22:00

I hate it

I do wonder about this Modern Thing- you know, of knocking through rooms downstairs to get one great big room

it's ok when the dcs are wee, but when they get bigger you find you can have about five different sources of NOISE all going at once

gah

Ingles2 · 15/03/2012 22:00

I feel exactly the same and I've also had labyrinthitis, so it must have something to do with it.

tryingtoleave · 15/03/2012 22:03

Yes, again! My dream house has lots of rooms with doors!

I am quite glad I am not alone on this.

YABVU. Sorry but for some of us we dont function without high levels of stimulus. i am currently listening to music, mnning, crocheting and watching tv. I can tell you the song and the tv program. It is just how some people are wired. And this way of being actually helps to keep me balanced.

Speak to him about relocating or plugging in some head phones. Some of us suffer from the opposite problem. Insufficent stimulus.

My dh is very good about using headphones...

Three children jabbering at talking to me about their day simultaneously has much the same effect. By the way, has the IPad suddenly become much LOUDER since the last update, or is it me? Blush
