we live in a smallish block of flats in a naice area

we are the top (2nd), floor.

The roof is fucked. It leaks constantly and we have three sagging ceilings and many damp/collapsed patches because of it.

We need the permission of the other leaseholders to prioritise the repair work, and many of the other l/holders are in SC arrears.

The people downstairs said "I think vodka's flat should pay as it's their roof"

AIBU to collect the water which we currently catch in buckets, bowls etc and pour it into their flat through the floorboards?

in case it's illegal I guess! Also not sure what I'd say when they came up complaining that dirty water was dripping through their improperly-fixed spotlights.

you should not pour the water through, though one or two buckets might overflow and you are at risk of tripping over oone in the middle of the night on the way to the bathroom, afterr all, all that dripping may make you need the loo in the night. do you have a lovely big metal bucket, they are ever so clanky. you have to shout really loudly to your oh to fetch the mop, he shouts back Whhhhhatt? , you shout back the mop, etc for a good 15 minutes... while you run aound like the keystone cops thumping on the floor. do you know here thei bedroom is located?

alas, I pobably should not encourrage any such behaviour... but the though of it is very pleasing.

you have to make it their problem. when it is their problem then they will be interested in sorting it out. a bit of clanking and stomping about in the middle of the night may help. they may of couse retaliate and play loud music.
