to think that most questions on AIBU are actually shoehorned to make anothing question an AIBU question

That's it simply. I'm not really fussed but most questions really aren't AIBU questions at all. It's just because this is really the general discussion forum.

Examples are questions such as AIBU to wonder how to do ...?
What they really want to ask is "how do I do...?"

I can see the irony, because this thread isn't really an AIBU question

that should be "another question" rather than "anothing question"

YANBU

I can see the irony too

I don't care what people post or where Grin

ahem

Either this is a massive coincidence Hmm, or I'm due a bit of credit here....

Bennifer · 14/03/2012 16:14

did you post something similar Viv?

It's because this is where you'll get most replies.

Now a lot of people feel there's not much point posting anywhere else, because once it drops off active convos, practically nobody will ever see it.

ViviPru · 14/03/2012 16:18

Yeah, sorry for being an arse, you've not seen it, clearly.

Massive coincidence though as I was just this minute banging on about this on Mardy's thread about site navigation and Active Convos. The fact us used the word shoehorn made me think this wasn't a coincidence!!

I've thought for a while now that AIBU should be changed to an umbrella AIBU/WWYD. I estimate abut 50% of AIBUs are really WWYDs with an AIBU question shoehorned on (I'm guilty of it myself)

I've posted WWYD type quandaries in chat as they're not strictly AIBUs. Problem is, because the content is more AIBU fodder, in chat they've not got the same level of response as they might have here had I somehow forced in an AIBU element.

I like the straight talking and frankness that you only get in AIBU, but get irked at all the AIBUs that shouldn't be here (channelling trills)

Sorry, really didn't spot it - but great minds and all that
