To want to have a garden party for the Queen's Jubilee?

Even though I'm not that arsed about the Queen or the Royal Family. I'd go as far as to say that I err on the side of not really liking them.

But I do quite fancy tea and scones and gin and Union Jack bunting in the garden for the Jubilee. I do like that twee shite and it seems a perfect opportunity.

AIBU?

YANBU. May I come? I will bring waf-ferr-thin cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off and vodka.

BupcakesandCunting · 14/03/2012 13:50

Yes you may come. I must warn you though, that all ladies will be expected to wear pearls and twinsets. Wink

Thank you! i will observe the dress-code of course.

Will there be a crown-making competition for the DC?

My mother slaved over mine in 1977.

What a good idea! Grin

What about a "Princess for Harry" contest for the mums girls, too?

If we're not away then we'll be having one! There's a little fenced gardeny bit at the top of our drive for the children here to play in so we're taking that over with a gazebo, bbq and music. And bunting, fairylights and union jack toot all over the place.
I'm not a royalist either, but it's a good opportunity to get to know our neighbours better :)

Grin at Toddlers and Tiaras-type comp. Brilliant! I do love a good fight. It would be like a live version of AIBU.

YANBU we are doing the same with some friends. We did it for the Royal wedding too.

Hilarious really seeing as I am about as anti royal as you can get Blush

Convict224 · 25/04/2012 15:09

I love the competitive element in your party. How about setting up jumps and getting everyone on all fours and see who is the best Princess Anne? The worst jumper could be the secret winner, as in "why the long face..."
Oh I just crack myself up!

Please please do auction Harry off to the highest bidder because lets face it he is strangely attractive
