To think that if the management company put a padlock on the door to the cupboard that houses the stopcock,

They should have at least given the key to the security man. So the firemen did not have to break in to turn the water off.

So gallons of water continued to flow inside mine (and 100) other peoples apartments.

And the security guard should have been shown where the stopcock cupboard is?

Am a little bit bitter and twisted about this as 6 weeks ago we had a major flood. Carpets and stuff ruined.

Main water pipe to blame (runs inside the apartments, just outside my flat on the 10th floor (my flat on the 9th floor).

So finally got it sorted, was waiting for new carpets this week.

Friday, 9.30pm another massive flood, same water pipe burst, same location.
Now furniture ruined as well.

What idiot would put a padlock on a cupboard that housed the stopcock? What idiot would not tell the night security officer where all stopcocks where housed in all of the apartment blocks?A

Is that not against some law or other?

Don't know Quint. There is a meeting going on now (which I cannot attend because I am waiting for servicemaster to come and get rid of all my wet stuff, and Hammonds to assess the damage to bedroom fitted furniture.

We are staying in our 3rd hotel this week (am in that one for 7 days) as the flat is not liveable. As soon as our furniture has gone to furnituremedic the contractors will be coming in to rip up skirting boards and dry out the apartment.

Have got 2 dehumidifiers on the go at the moment.

Am pissed off. My daughter has gone along to the meeting (she is 22 and is a smart cookie, so am not too worried.

When I questioned about the padlock was told it was to stop people messing with it - yes, people like the firemen!!!!!
