Do tell if I'm being a tad PFF, but I was totally baffled that a friend of mine had never heard of the country's most popular meeting place for paretns.

Yes, I can understand not actually visiting the forum, yep, I can see that. But it's in the news loads isn't it? Confused

She totally did a wtaj face when I said the word.

Hmm

Sad for the poor old doily.

Feel sorry for her for being so out of touch. Grin

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/03/2012 21:14

But that's the kicker - she's up with the news, reads nonMaildecent papers, and keeps up to date with stuff.

And is extremely witty and intelligent.

She just has a gapnig hole in her life. Wink

How DOES she cope???Sad

NoDontLickThat · 13/03/2012 21:16

It means you can start AIBU threads about her and she'll never know Wink

champagnesupernova · 13/03/2012 21:18

So how did you describe it to her? I always struggle to explain what MNet is to poeple who haven't heard the Good News without sound like some kind of weirdy evangelist...

CarpeJugulum · 13/03/2012 21:19

Maybe she does know...

Maybe she stalks you and doesn't want you to know...

Or maybe I'm overthinking things... again... with too many ...'s

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/03/2012 21:21

Oh yes, she's truly beuatiful as well and an allround decent egg.

Just on case, eh, Carpe.

not surprising. not many people care enough about an internet forum for it to register.

AnnaFender · 14/03/2012 00:44

A 'smidgen startled'? I thought we could only be 'furious' or 'Shock' at things.

Confused
jinsei · 14/03/2012 00:44

She's lying. It's a cover so that she doesn't out herself.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 14/03/2012 09:15

AnnaF. I wasntcwilling to leave myself wide open to the anti-hyperbolic by being all frothing and SIOBy.

Tbh I only found out about mumsnet a year ago when DP became obsessed with his reptile forum he'd found, he suggested to me to sign up for a cat forum cos that's what I liked Hmm, and I done a search for something a bit more exciting and found this Grin but I don't personally know anyone else who had heard of it and my friends give me a funny look when I mention it.

lesley33 · 14/03/2012 09:39

I bet she is really one of the prolific posters who is very outspoken like Hullygully and she just doesn't want you to realise.

Actually I hadn't heard of this until last year either.

Ilovedaintynuts · 14/03/2012 09:43

My goodness she must have so much spare time Smile

MissTapestry · 14/03/2012 09:46

What does she DO all day?? The poor, poor woman Sad
