Well am I? AM I??? As I have, and dh will be home shortly no doubt v cross that I have been sat on my arse all day drifting in and out of mildly hallucinatory sleeps with both children and ferrying them to drs and pharmacies to make sure that symptoms were nothing untoward

If he kicks off I might dissolve even further into snot. Please tell me a few witty cutting barbed remarks that I can throw at him if he chooses to pick a fight as I am too I'll to cone ip with my own. TIA.

i wouldn't bother with witty remarks, just tell him to fuck off

Pandemoniaa · 13/03/2012 17:26

...and when he gets there, fuck of a little further.

Pandemoniaa · 13/03/2012 17:27

Tsk!! That should read "fuck off.

Agincourt · 13/03/2012 17:28

can you no9t just explain that you are not a stepford wife and this isn't the 1950's?

larks35 · 13/03/2012 17:28

Don't give him a chance to moan, go straight off to bed when he gets in.

Agincourt · 13/03/2012 17:29

sometime i don't do the housework when i am well, it's quite normal

i think

QueenSconetta · 13/03/2012 17:31

I second Jane. Possibly add 'right' in the middle.

valiumredhead · 13/03/2012 17:33

Would he do housework if he was ill?

Anonymumous · 13/03/2012 17:35

I usually retort that if it's bothering him that much, he's more than welcome to tidy the house up himself. That's usually enough to ensure that nothing more gets said (or done)! Wink

EvacuationWarden · 13/03/2012 17:35

Oops. I'm obviously too unwell to spellcheck my posts too. Sorry. If I have to hear the club penguin or Jake and the neverland pirates theme tune ONE more bloody time I may very well spontaneously self combust. Which would create one hell of a mess for dh, hmmm maybe I'm onto something there...

Too right, I had the virus from hell for 2 weeks and did minimal/zero housework. Too busy coughing my lungs up and sweating, and looking after DS1 who was the same. Sad

Hope you feel better soon.

squeakytoy · 13/03/2012 17:36

sometimes I dont do the houswork when I am perfectly well, simply because I cant be bloody bothered... my husband would not dare say a word about it!!

EvacuationWarden · 13/03/2012 17:37

Valium- er no, not even if he was well!

Surely there isn't a man alive that is such a cunt that he would expect a sick woman, looking after sick children, to do housework?

When you come into a house of sickness after a day at work, you take over and make everyone more comfortable and attend to whatever urgent jobs haven't been done.

You certainly don't start shouting at your unwell spouse for displeasing you by being too sick to keep house.

LentillyFart · 13/03/2012 17:45

Sounds like that's exactly what the OP is expecting though AThing - which is very sad really. That kind of shit would happen exactly once in my house and then never again - it would have been a sharp 'fuck off' delivered on a very pointy stick!

EvacuationWarden · 13/03/2012 17:46

Well thing I'll let you know in about 20 mins Grin

OP posts:
EvacuationWarden · 13/03/2012 17:49

If I drop the "fuck the fuck off" bomb into the situation he will know I have been mning about him- not really the done thing - but I am tempted ...

abigboydidit · 13/03/2012 18:12

Am with you OP! I called my inlaws over today to look after DS for a couple of hours as I felt so sh*te. Was great..I slept and sweated for an hour and a half. Then bloody MiL came back and commented about the fact I hadn't washed the lunch dishes ("disgusting" apparently). WTAF...

CurrySpice · 13/03/2012 18:22

I cannot believe that there would be any reaction when he comes in but sympathy and concern for his wife and kids! In fact I would have expected a call on the way home asking if I need or want anything. At a minimum

Really? In 2012, someone would expect their ill partner to do housework?

Amazing!

He would get told to take a one way ticket to the other side of fuck if I were you OP Angry

What right does he have to tell you what to do. What the actual?!

skybluepearl · 13/03/2012 18:24

i second going up to bed and leaving him to sort the kids out. any decent man would understand that it's impossible to do house work when ill. I bet he doesn't work when he is ill. I bet he rests.

skybluepearl · 13/03/2012 18:26

the fact you have managed to look after the kids while ill is a miracle in itself.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 13/03/2012 18:31

I suggest handing him the dominos menu as soon as he walks through the door and asking which pizza he wants on the Two for Tuesday deal as you've already chosen yours. Then make it quite clear that your bum is staying put on the sofa tonight and his can too of he so chooses.
