...to get p'd off by parent and child parking

Clockingout · 13/03/2012 09:30

3 points:

  1. Parents with children over, say, 7/8 should not use pc parking
  2. Elderly/disabled people should not use pc parking
  3. People should not park in pc parking if they are not getting out with their child, i.e. other parent is popping in.
  4. Parents should not park in disabled spaces.

Do you, would you ever say anything? I am too wimpy so just complaining on here instead...

OP posts:

If disabled spaces are full diasabled people are allowed to use p&c spaces.

And yabu for even starting this thread.

Memoo · 13/03/2012 09:32

Ps that 4 points you great big numpty!

SnaggleFlap · 13/03/2012 09:33

YANBU, except about disabled people using a space- I think they should take priority if all disabled spaces are taken.

However, people are funny about pc parking spaces on MN, and you will no doubt be called 'entitled' for feeling this way.

Good luck OP!

treadwarily · 13/03/2012 09:34

well good luck with policing your points.

  1. P&C spaces should all be removed thus ending the issue
FlossieTeacakeShouldFakeIt · 13/03/2012 09:36

Here we go again!

P&C spaces are a convienience, not a right. If, on a rare ocassion, I want to park in one with a 7yo, I will. And there is bugger all anyone can do about it.

Allthewhitehorsesarestillinbed · 13/03/2012 09:37

I'm just going to give you these Thanks. I hope your day improves.

imnotmymum · 13/03/2012 09:37

I always find it funny when people start moaning at someone for parking in places "where they shouldn't" it is a bloody parking spot and there are hundreds !! The best ones are when someone moans at someone then their partner stays in the car with their child !!

ShatnersBassoon · 13/03/2012 09:37

Stop using the bloody things. Pretend it's like the olden days and they don't exist.

LentillyFart · 13/03/2012 09:38

yawn

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 13/03/2012 09:38

Did I miss something? Is it Bingo morning on MN?

I wish all bloody parking spaces were bigger my parking skills are non existent

But apart from that, YABU because

Disabled people need a space, parents/children don't.
You made 4 points not 3.

HTH :)

Sparklingbrook · 13/03/2012 09:40

Yay! Groundhog Day on Mumsnet. Don't start the bunfight yet-just need to make a brew. Grin

TheBigJessie · 13/03/2012 09:41

At last! At last!

Now everything is on schedule.

greensnail · 13/03/2012 09:41

I think they should be used by whoever thinks they need them. Lots of people have a far greater need for a big space or to be close to the shop than me just because i have young dc.

Sparklingbrook · 13/03/2012 09:42

Budge up truth. Fancy a Jaffa Cake?

NettoSuperstar · 13/03/2012 09:43

Ooooh, I got my first glare for parking in a P&C space last week. There were no disabled spaces left and I can't walk far atm.

I was so proudGrin

Good idea op, make the disabled people have to struggle to get out and walk further so you can get your little darlings out easier!

Honeydragon · 13/03/2012 09:50

Case in point: Maryz has several hideously melted children tough.

Honeydragon · 13/03/2012 09:50

though

EssexGurl · 13/03/2012 09:52

I think that designated parking spaces should be kept free for the correct people. I have only challenged people twice (in 7 years) and got a heap of abuse both times. One woman saw where I eventually parked and followed me to the car to carry on her assasination of my character. Of course, she was unencumbered by child or disability so was free to roam at will whilst I was struggling with a screaming baby. So I won't be bothering again.

Oh, and our Sainsbury's carpark says P&C parking is for parents with children up to 12 years of age! And the disabled and P&C are stuck in a corner far far away from the shop so not exactly convenient.
