3 points:

  1. Parents with children over, say, 7/8 should not use pc parking
  2. Elderly/disabled people should not use pc parking
  3. People should not park in pc parking if they are not getting out with their child, i.e. other parent is popping in.
  4. Parents should not park in disabled spaces.

Do you, would you ever say anything? I am too wimpy so just complaining on here instead...

DD's also melted, as I didn't own a car at all until a few months ago and she is 10.

BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 13/03/2012 09:53

Oh I do love how topics on here meld with the waning of the moon Wink

I predict:

smokers
Dogs off leads
BF/FF debate
Puschairs vs wheelchairs on the bus

Any more for any more?

jezebelle · 13/03/2012 09:53

I'll admit to feeling like the op does at times, i'm 7 months pg with a 9 month old baby and have bad PGP and drive a big car so those spaces are very handy, maybe they should just make more larger spaces avaliable ??

Voidka · 13/03/2012 09:53

I am so glad I dont drive - I never have to worry about carpark politics.

5inthebed · 13/03/2012 09:54

Oh oh oh, has anyone said sense of entitlement yet? Can I pleeeeeeeeaaaaassseee say it?

Pascha · 13/03/2012 09:54

Oh god. I park my hummer across 2 spaces. Sideways. So ner.

Am I going to regret doing RL instead of MN today?

I have foreign friends living in London who find it funny that the Brits so love their queues. They joke that its a throwback to the days of rationing during WWII. Anyway, they would often jump a queue and then wave for me to join them. I of course decline and stay at the back of the queue like good Brit.

I don't doubt that the MNetters who are going - whats the big deal about me taking a P&C place, will be ranting at some foreigner that ignored the 'eitiquette' for sun loungers and when ordering drinks at the bar :o

LimeLeafLizard · 13/03/2012 10:00

'Is it Bingo morning on MN'.

Looks like it, yes. My card is filling...

Sparklingbrook · 13/03/2012 10:03

I am going to be me one of those Bingo 'dibbers' or 'dobbers' whatever they are called. Grin

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/03/2012 10:03

Judging by the mess in the P&T area in Tesco yesterday, I think we need to leave these spaces free for people with 4x4s/MPVs who can't bloody drive Wink

I was very tempted to park in p & c spaces when I was heavily pregnant, as I was terrified I'd get back to the car and not be able to get my mahoosive bump back into it. I never did though, I was scared of being told off!

Clockingout · 13/03/2012 10:06

Sorry, didn't realise we weren't supposed to discuss things that have been discussed before. Is that the rule, I should have done a search first, quite new too, is that alright? So, if a pc space is free, do you use it?

Sparklingbrook · 13/03/2012 10:07

Round here the P&C spaces are for Dad to sit in the car with the kids while Mum goes shopping apparently. Hmm

HOUSE!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/03/2012 10:07

Ah yes, I must get out my bingo card

JaneMare · 13/03/2012 10:08

Wink

Clockingout · 13/03/2012 10:09

itstime i actually had that problem when pregnant with my first! i had to climb through the passenger seat! Very undignified. i'm sure its a great laugh to see me 9 months pg getting all hot and bothered getting my 2 and 4 yr olds into the car!

I have a little notebook can't do spreadsheets. It used to be a post it note. Grin

thetasigmamum · 13/03/2012 10:10

@maryz Safety. That's why I wanted them, anyway. Never minded how far they were away from the store, but wanted them to be by the proper safe path through the car park rather than in a position where you had to walk through the car park to get on the pedestrian path. At one point I had 3 DCs under 5, one of whom was deaf. Safety was paramount. My very favourite store ever was one we found in Cornwall - can't even remember which store it was, but the P&C places were in the most remote corner of the car park, farthest point from the store - but there was a proper pavement skirting the car park that went right to the door of the shop, from the P&C places. No need to cross the traffic flow at all. It was brilliant so it was.

lambethlil · 13/03/2012 10:12

House!
And you had 4 points, not 3 you numpty!

Dawndonna · 13/03/2012 10:13

I have been stopped whilst pushing dd in her wheelchair from the parent and child space, (there were no blue badge spaces left). As DD said to the woman trying to have a go because her pfb was going to get wet. Swop legs?
Now, sod off.
