To ask other mums on MN not to use the F word?

I am a newbie. I find that F word is peppered in a lot of the threads. I used to swear a lot but I have stopped completely because I realize it's common, and makes a woman sound undignified. Is it too much, ladies, to ask you not to use F-ing thsi and F-ing that? Can't we adults discuss things without resorting to sailor language? Thank you.

Tee2072 · 13/03/2012 12:25

Perhaps it would help, minesawhitewine, if you remember that Mumsnet has no mods!

MissTapestry · 13/03/2012 12:25

GrahamTribe · 13/03/2012 12:39

What the fucks going on here? I pop in during my lunchbreak and all fucking hell's broken loose! For fucks sake stop winding the OP up, she may be being a snooty fucker but there's no need to tell her to fuck off. Ask her to fuck off instead, that's more fucking polite.

raspberrypi, please fuck off honey, thank you sweetie.

boschy · 13/03/2012 12:40

Well fuck that for a game of soldiers! Bugger me bandy and call me Candy, I've never heard the fucking like before.

NB Bugger me bandy is ACTUAL sailor language.

coffeeinbed · 13/03/2012 12:40

Can I be considered as reasonably educated seeing as I can swear - orally and in writing in seven or so languages?

TheresaMayHaveaBiscuit · 13/03/2012 12:40

Wine for minesawhitewine Well done that MNer Grin

TheRhubarb · 13/03/2012 12:41

Has raspberrypi gone then? Shame because I actually agree with her, Mumsnet is full of working class, uncooth and common trollopes who probably walk around the town centres with their bellies flopping over their leggings, pushing their barefoot children in buggies whilst sucking on a cigarette.

I honestly don't know how I can mingle with such people. I can only hope that my own good manners, grace and bearing rubs off on them.

GrahamTribe · 13/03/2012 12:43

Like fuck it does, TheRhubarb! Grin

NarkedPuffin · 13/03/2012 12:44

Just reading through the thread and Hully got there first.

minesawhitewine · 13/03/2012 12:46

I'm bracing myself to say something else naughty now - how come so it's so much easier to say it than write it?

NarkedPuffin · 13/03/2012 12:47

TheSkiingGardener, 'arbitrary bees' is now my phrase of the week.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/03/2012 12:49

Raspberrypi - no, it is not unreasonable of you to ask us not to say Fuck (though, as has been pointed out, it is rather rude, as a newbie, to expect the site to change just to accomodate your likes and dislikes) - but equally, it is not unreasonable of us to ignore your request.

But before you dismiss mumsnet on the basis of one word - a bit shallow, surely - why not look at some of the other threads, and find out how much good mumsnet does. People here have supported me through my fight with depression. Lots of people find help and support when going through the pain of miscarriage or bereavement, or mental health problems. Mumsnetters have knitted something like 8 blankets, to send to bereaved mumsnetters as a tangible demonstration of the comfort we want to give them. And that's just a tiny example of all that mumsnet does.

But hey - if all that isn't worth hanging around for - don't let the door bang you on the arse tush backside bottom derriere, as you leave.
