to want to boil my computer in acid?

...there is a reason, hear me out!

I've just got a friend request on LinkedIn from the most unprofessional, jobsworthy, manager's-arse-licking Humarn Resources manager from a previous job a few years ago. Hmm (In addition to condoning bullying by her friend - my equally incompetent boss - this HR joke told my manager something confidential I had explicitly asked her not to tell my boss. Within fifteen minutes my manager referred to this confidential issue she was supposed not to know about! Angry) That was one bad employment from start to finish.

Now, I don't feel like just pressing the 'ignore' button. I feel like deleting my LinkedIn account, disconnecting my computer, boiling it in acid before sending it to the Gobi desert, just to be sure I never see this idiot's name again.

Am I overreacting here? Or should I actually accept the request - would it be good for my career? Confused

I wouldn't accept it. I also wouldn't boil your computer in acid. It may be useful at some point. Wink

Reasonable response IMHO. The only problem would be where to get enough acid and a large enough receptacle to boil it in, especially if it's a desktop. Is there a local factory nearby you could pop down to - perhaps google places that strip old paint from wooden furniture? Wink

I'll just vent my spleen at it. That should do it.

That seems like a perfectly balanced approach Smile

Perhaps I should accept the request after all. I could gift her with a piece of my mind (instead of MN), what do you think?? Grin

Oh, wait, I may actually need a career yet!
