Is it like a panic button? If one of the MumsnetTowers inmates hits it, do all the others come running to help? Does it beep loudly and set off flashing red lights? Thus turning MumsnetTowers into a red light district?

Why does it take so long to take effect? Usually, one of the MumsnetTowers inmates comes unto a thread and says 'We are going to delete this thread shortly because ...' and then it still takes a good while until the thread actually goes 'poof'. What happens during that time? Are there forms to fill in? Rules to follow?

What happens to the poor deleted threads? Are they forever banished to cyberspace purgatory?

It is a large, red mushroom-shaped button, the size of a pineapple. They are long and knitted very tightly into socks and jumpers. They hampsters then need to be reanimated by small electrobes in order to generate enough electricity to oull the thread.
