it is almost making me want to book a week at the Grosvenor this summer but unfortunately I wouldn't have unrestricted access to other peoples lives and bedrooms without getting myself arrested

Haha I totally agree, it was my Sunday night viewing favourite. Working on reception in a hotel myself I found it most entertaining and relieving that I work where I do. "just two words...... Just ask" love it.

notapizzaeater · 05/03/2012 14:09

I loved it too ... even checked web site out for a holiday ... Just want to mother him :-)

NoillyPrat · 05/03/2012 14:10

Yanbu. Sunday nights just aren't the same anymore :(

saythatagain · 05/03/2012 14:12

Agree, agree, agree! And we too have been onto the website! We blinkin' loved that programme.

Agincourt · 05/03/2012 14:19

I love that Harry Hill has been covering it too and has Mark and Christian on and those two Welsh blokes!

Isn't it weird how you become so fond of people you don't even know?Blush and what with Stella finishing on Friday too i am rather bereft tv wise atm

did you never just want to get hold of him and cut is hair though?

JaneMare · 05/03/2012 14:22

i wanted to take the reservations manager to a mirror and make her wear a jacket that fitted Grin

the way it kept riding up made her look like she had no neck

saythatagain · 05/03/2012 14:23

Those teeth, the mother...all so very entertaining. I thought his son was charming and very switched on.

Agincourt · 05/03/2012 14:47

His son was lovely, he said in the last episode he had a daughter as well. I loved the coming up with hair brain schemes and dolphin racing when the average age of guest was around the 60yo mark, the forgetting of a quorn roll on christmas day...the list is endless really.

Shall we go on a mumsnetter holiday?:o

YANBU. I really missed it last night too.

Alison's jacket was funny, it made her arms look really short.

His enthusiasm and zest for the place was entertaining, compared to that of his staff Grin

Agincourt · 05/03/2012 16:52

I never even noticed Alison's jacket, she was very funny too :o

When Alison and Mark were sat next to each other talking to the camera it looked just like a scene from creature comforts.

grumblinalong · 05/03/2012 16:59

I'll miss Mark but Alisons weird lipstick applying/wearing was freaking me out.

TheGoddessBlossom · 05/03/2012 17:04

I will not miss it. My DH LOVED it, but now that it is not on anymore he may stop saying "You know?" a la Mark, after every godamn sentence. He thinks it's hilarious, I do not.

JaneMare · 05/03/2012 17:04

Grin @ MN holiday!

imagine the scene...dinner time in the Grosvenor Hotel, Mark has been summonsed to a table and then beats a hasty retreat to the kitchen

"they want to know if the ham is NAICE! of course it's NAICE, i only eat NAICE ham!"

Grin
Agincourt · 05/03/2012 17:15

I don't think they would have naice ham somehow :o

He would have to send a member of staff out on an emergency shopping trip for naice ham and pom bears

He was just SO good at calming people down though wasnt he? Was it the last episode or the one before where they put a mother and her son in a double bedded room and the son was really angry about it and quite confrontational and he managed to calm them down and talk them into looking forward to their holiday even though nothing had changed!

OP posts:
JaneMare · 05/03/2012 17:23

and bagsy the olive green room with the mis-matched canopy over the bed!

CreamolaFoamless · 05/03/2012 17:28

Alison phoned is sick over Christmas .......

do you thin she was really ill

CreamolaFoamless · 05/03/2012 17:28

think

JaneMare · 05/03/2012 17:30

of course she wasn't only a fool would believe her, hey Mark?
Wink

i reckon she's a lurker on MN at least Grin

StuckUpTheFezziwigTree · 05/03/2012 17:32

I liked the previous series better. Couldn't get into this one.

HowAboutAHotCupOfShutTheHellUp · 05/03/2012 17:33

Oh I loved it too ! I thought I was the only one.

I want to go on hols to the Grosvenor and play bingo and bet on dolphin rides and sleep in a mismatched chintzy hotel room with a canopy over my bed.

Agincourt · 05/03/2012 17:36

If she is a mumsnetter, do you think she uses tippex to scrub out posts she doesn't like?

OP posts:
Bearcrumble · 05/03/2012 17:37

I agree with with Stuckup - I much preferred series 1. They were all more interesting/nicer people. I loved the Welsh Manager, I cried when he talked about chasing the taxi up the street. SO MUCH SADNESS.
