I am feeling rather peckish and I have some tasty veggie kofta bites and some spinach and feta falafels in the fridge. Would IBU to stick them in the oven and devour each bite?

I wouldn't risk it tbh....a day or 2 over maybe but not a week...

DinahMoHum · 03/03/2012 16:34

if theyre not mouldy and they smell alright, then i would give them a try.

Bigteadrinker · 03/03/2012 16:34

If they are veggie, then I would! It says "best before" right? If it says "use by" i think be a bit more careful.

Shutupanddrive · 03/03/2012 16:36

I would

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 03/03/2012 16:37

If they look, smell and taste OK they're probably fine. I would.

Deflatedballoonbelly · 03/03/2012 16:38

Hold on to your sphincter...

MrsCog · 03/03/2012 16:38

If you're not pg, there's no meat in them, you cook them really really hot and there's no mould then I'd tuck right in!

MrsKittyFane · 03/03/2012 16:42

They are only a week over, they'd probably be fine next Saturday too.
No meat or fish involved, so eat them ( if you haven't already!) :o

Jamillalliamilli · 03/03/2012 16:43

If your fridge is cold enough they may well be fine. Mrs Cog summed up well.

OldGreyWiffleTest · 03/03/2012 16:45

Have they got mould growing on them? Do they smell off?

RaPaPaPumPumBootyMum · 03/03/2012 17:42

I'm with MrsCog on this.

So long as you're not pregnant or of otherwise delicate constitution.

If they look and smell okay I would bung em in the oven.

The heat will probably kill any buggies.

I would definitely eat them but then I am known for having a cast iron stomach Grin

Let us know how you get on...!

brighthair · 03/03/2012 18:40

Do they have no visible mould?
Do they smell ok?

Then eat them Grin but I do like prev poster have a cast iron stomach. As long as your fridge is cold and you get them piping hot

Gumby · 03/03/2012 18:42

Have you read the thread about what people can't eat cos they pikes with it?!
You'll be posting on it this time tomorrow

Gumby · 03/03/2012 18:43

Pikes = puked Grin

SaharaMerchant · 03/03/2012 19:46

Also with mrscog...as long as you're not pregnant. I'd definitely eat them.

misslinnet · 03/03/2012 19:49

Given that they're veggie stuff, if they look & smell okay & you're not pregnant, I'd risk it.

Definitely not with meat / fish though. I've been caught out with that before.

Whoneedssleepanyway · 03/03/2012 19:50

I gave DD1 (5) a yoghurt with best before 25 feb today, she is fine.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/03/2012 19:52

I've just finished up some cheese I got for Christmas. Best by date of 20 January. It was fine.
