To rehome this cat! Am fuming!

That's it, I've had it with this cat!
She doesn't fit in, my old cat doesn't like her (keeps going for her)
She hardly comes out, hides either under my bed or in the kitchen
She shit on my bed when I went away for the night, depsite the fact I have TWO litter trays out with 2 different types of litter
Has bitten me and has swiped DS
Seems to be making DS's eye sore, it keeps swelling up and this has only been happening since we've had her
and the icing on the cake is I've just woken up to a smash and she's broken the butter dish my nan got me, which I really liked to find she has also PISSED ON MY FECKING BED, WITH ME SLEEPING IN IT!!!
Fucking fuming with her right now. I feel like kicking her out the house right now, and don't even care if she comes back or not.

We've had her a month and I swore I'd perservere with her to make sure her and my other cat got on, but really I feel angry and insulted by her actions, I just CBA with her any more. Angry

TBH, I think you ought to rehome her. Not because she is a menace, but because I feel sorry for her. You don't seem mature or patient enough to be a pet owner and I am actually surprised you have another cat. If you rehome her, she's at least got a chance to find a lovely home with people who actually want and care for her.

Also, don't bring any other animals into your house.

WinkyWinkola · 27/02/2012 05:39

The cat is clearly totally distressed. A relaxed, secure animal would not behave this way.

It is annoying but to a certain extent, things aren't exactly the most hygienic or calm with pets and or children around.

Maybe your established cat is upsetting your new one? Do you know your new one's history?

Keep it in the kitchen with a litter tray and a warm bed for a while.

nooka · 27/02/2012 05:42

I think that you should rehome her as she sounds miserable and your other cat is obviously very pissed off and making the new cat very unhappy. Some cats really don't cope at all well with company and need to be only cats (ie either cat a tortie as I've heard this is a known trait).

Yeahthatsnotgonnahappen · 27/02/2012 05:42

Really?! Your poor cat is obviously distressed, anxious and scared and you can't be arsed anymore? Wow. Get that cat a new home because as a living breathing animal with feelings it deserves better that what you can seemingly be arsed to provide.

OpheliasWeepingWillow · 27/02/2012 05:48

Poor cat Sad

MissMogwi · 27/02/2012 05:53

You're feeling insulted by her actions?! You do know that she's a cat, right? She won't be doing it to annoy you.

Definitely rehome the cat, it sounds distressed and would do better in a more patient home.

iscream · 27/02/2012 05:53

This is why we wouldn't house our sd1's cat when he was in between apts. Our older cat would not like it at all. I have no patience at all for a cat that uses my bed for a litter box, and I would re home it as well.

mrstiredandconfused · 27/02/2012 05:57

The poor cat sounds anxious, distressed and quite frankly scared. You need to get her rehomed for her sake - she ain't a happy moggy.

The pissing on the bed thing/hiding is due to fear - get on the phone asap today, she will be much happier in different surroundings.

ChewingGum · 27/02/2012 05:59

The cat is terrified.

I wont come out from under the bed because it is scared of your other cat. hence the pissing and shitting. it is a sign of distress you know.

yes, rehom ethe poor thing asap

Oh anddont bother rescuing any others.

DaffodilsAhoy · 27/02/2012 06:27

Hmm I'm sure the cat picked that dish because she knew it was special to you...

Of course you know that little tantrum was ridiculous but I do sympathise with the pooing and weeing situation which is horrible.

As everyone else has said, the cat is obviously very distressed and can't settle with your current cat so I think the kindest thing would be to rehome. Take a deep breath before you contact the rescue and explain it all from the cat's welfare and happiness point of view rather than the way you have explained it on here.

OhChristFENTON · 27/02/2012 06:30

If you can't be arsed with her anymore then, yes, I think it's time to rehome her. She hasn't fitted in and could have the chance to be happy elsewhere.

Don't be cross with her, she won't have been doing it deliberately to upset you, cats don't really work like that.

ohbugrit · 27/02/2012 06:38

Anyone who can be insulted by the actions of an animal clearly doesn't have the necessary understanding to make a good owner.

Both cats are clearly distressed by the current situation. Find a sensible rescue to give this cat a better home and do not take on more pets again. You aren't the right person.

catsmother · 27/02/2012 06:40

Cats don't operate personal vendettas FFS !

The behaviour you describe sounds as if she's frightened - possibly of the other cat, but maybe too, of you (if you react towards her with the same sort of anger leaping out from your post).

Yes - please rehome her, via a reputable shelter. Hope it was just frustration talking when you suggested "kicking her out" ..... when someone takes on an animal it becomes their responsibility - to look after, or, to find an alternative, suitable home if theirs doesn't work out for whatever reason .... she's not some bit of rubbish to be chucked out regardless of what would happen to her then.

Def rehome. I've got two boys, both from the same shelter, both from the same mother.
One is a delight, he is affectionate, friendly and just lovely. The other is a different matter. He is aloof and hides from DD despite her never having hurt him. He has also peed on my bed twice with me in it.
I haven't rehomed him, I'd like to but haven't.
What I do now is either put them out at night, they have a spacious shed with beds and a flap or lock them in the kitchen.
You are clearly not enjoying the experience so get rid to a decent shelter.

catsareevil · 27/02/2012 06:54

Your cat will be happier somewhere else.
Did you get her from a shelter? I so you can retur her, they would rather have her back if it wasn't working out.

Her behaviour is that of a cat in distress, not a cat trying to annoy you.

nooka · 27/02/2012 06:58

When one of my cats went a bit senile he used to come into my bedroom at night and poo under the bed. It was really quite awful. However when we shut him in the utility room (with the cat flap) he actually seemed much happier. The vet said he was probably getting disorientated. I've heard that cats stressed by another cat often avoid litter trays - I think it's a territorial issue.

Smurfy1 · 27/02/2012 07:03

Poor animal terrified and sensing anger from you really helps! have you tried feliway plug ins and leaving the poor animal alone

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 27/02/2012 07:04

Rehome the cat, she sounds miserable and distressed.

And FGS don't get anymore animals- you're clearly not cut out to help them settle into your home.

AuntLucyInPeru · 27/02/2012 07:08

All this guilt inducing moral judgment aside, you don't like the cat and it doesn't like you. No harm done, you gave it a good try. Now drop her back to the rehoming centre and give your old cat a big cuddle.

nomoreheels · 27/02/2012 07:10

Poor cat. Please rehome it, and properly via a shelter too - don't just give it to someone.

It can be very difficult to bring a new adult cat into a home with another adult. Sadly it doesn't sound like you've researched much about cats if you didn't spot all those signs of distress.

Vicky2011 · 27/02/2012 07:11

Yes re home the cat. Poor little thing. You sound a very ignorant pet owner. Why on earth did you get another cat if you weren't prepared for ructions with your current one? Cats are not pack animals. DOH!!

gamerwidow · 27/02/2012 07:12

I can understand your frustration, no-one wants to wake up in a bed full of cat wee, but this cat is obviously very unhappy.
Rehome the cat but don't take your anger out on it, it's clearly terrified poor thing.

Bucharest · 27/02/2012 07:17

Poor cat.

Yes, you should rehome.

(and you shouldn't take any more, you are obviously not cut out for it)

TwllBach · 27/02/2012 07:18

OP I think you might be better off asking for this to be moved to 'the litter tray.' that's where I posted about my cat recently. FWIW, I'm willing to bet the OP would never in a million years kick the cat out and leave it, she's just at the end of her tether or just woken up to find herself covered in cat piss. I'm sure that this is just a rant.
