Spreadable fricking butter is not fricking spreadable

And anyone who dares to disagree with me will be sent half a loaf of ripped up bread that I couldn't sodding spread in time to make sandwiches because the spreadable fricking butter wouldn't fricking spread.

Lurpak spreadable is easier to spead than Country Life spreadable IME

more importantly, it's not nice. get yourself a big slab of proper salted lurpak, and keep your butter dish near a radiator.

I keep my pat of butter in a butterdish. I do like a bit of butter on me bread that is easy to spread.

Lurpak spreadable let me down today. I had a gorgeous cheese topped loaf but the slices ripped to shreds when I was trying to butter it Sad

Here's my tip: when you make first contact with the bread (!) make the first three strokes VERY SLOW. After that keep slapping away willy nilly and it won't break your bread :)

It's known as Anchor Unspreadable in our house. Same for Lurpak. We have tried both.

We did stick it in the microwave and could only get a tiny sliver off the top.

I use Lurpak spreadable. when I first take it out of the fridge I put a little bit on the bread and leave it for a short while to soften before I spread it.

we are fond of saying "SPREADABLE?! My arse" in the style of jim royle, when we are frustrated by hard buttery lumps tearing up our toast.

Just get normal butter and keep it in the cupboard, if that makes it runny, turn down your heating, your house is too hot!

I used to have a butter dish and kept the butter on the counter top. It stayed lovely and soft. Then we got a greyhound Sad

Lurpak spreadable make me all sweary too. Have to take it out ages before you want to use it. Shame really, as it's the only butter that I've ever thought actually tasted nice.

I'm using anchor spreadable fine...maybe your fridges are too cold?

Or maybe mine isn't cold enough?! Shock it doesn't actually tell me how cold it is...just has a knob to turn to low, medium or high I mean wtaf is that? Is high cold or is low cold? Confused I keep it on medium..

Normal butter 13secs in microwave. Spreadable butter isn't and it doesn't taste as nice.

All they do to make "spreadable" butter is whip it loads, so there's more air in it, shouldn't change the taste much, but it's an impressive effort by the marketing companies to get people to keep butter in the fridge - which it doesn't need to be, and to buy air.

FredFred they put sunflower oil or rapeseed oil in it too to soften it. Just can't fathom why they don't put a bit more oil in, and less butter.

I shall dig out a butter dish

Fredfred it depends on the brand. I only use the ones that are 100% butter, not the ones that add in oil as that interferes with the taste.

D0oinMeCleanin we use one of these as a butter 'dish', randomdog isn't a greyhound but he's pretty determined and he'd never be able to get into it unless dh has left the lid off again that is

I do the same as bunbaker. Dig a bit out, leave it on the bread for a short while then spread it. Works for me and I make packed lunches for the kids every school day
