to hate Phone Scammers and think they are the scum of the earth?

My son is on PAYG. He has received lots of texts from 09 numbers to which he never replies. Now they have found a way of texting and scamming money from his credit without him ever replying. Orange do not want to know and will not refund the money.

Has anyone else heard of this scam?

First thought is ask for or get a new a new sim.
Maybe cheaper to get a new orange siim in his phone or eeven go to another provider
Cancel that PAYG number

Has he asked for a download ie ringtone etc from the 09 number? is there something he supposed to do to opt out of anything they "charge" for

Thanks for those links rats. When he phoned them, Orange immediately gave him a new phone number, so they must know something we don't.

YANBU to think them scum of the earth.

Phone scammers and other similar scumpanies need to die a little bit imho. Have just reported a company to trading standards for a) stealing my info B) misrepresenting themselves c) scamming money out of people for a type of 'insurance' and C) when you go on their website to get their address, they have a nasty trojan attack you.

I hope they drown in their own disentery.

I don't like scammers very much.
