jigsaw puzzles?

On a family holiday, we all gathered around a jigsaw . It was difficult, involved a lot of fiddling of edges, blaming others of hiding a piece in order to be The One Who Finished It.

I was also unashamedly devastated to leave an incomplete one behind.....I simply could not finish it before the end of the week.

I am not old, only 27. I surely should be googling the next booze and sex filled holiday rather than online jigsaw puzzle shops....someone slap me.

YABU, I can't abide jigsaw puzzles. Tiresome and pointless IMO. Mind you I do have the attention span of a gnat. DS1 loves them

holidaywoe · 19/02/2012 22:13

YANBU I love Jigsaws and we had a huge one going at xmas when we were on a family break. My Husband however cant bear them and referred to us as the Jig-Bores for the rest of the hols!!

TheSteveMilliband · 19/02/2012 22:13

Yanbu. I tried do do one on a winter holiday last year, cue much mocking (wasn't even a social do it all together thing) and sabotage by 2 yr old. Gave up in the end but have hankered after one ever since. In my defense, I was heavily pregnant and wasn't drinking like everyone else Blush

GrahamTribe · 19/02/2012 22:20

YANBU. Ebay is your friend for finding jigsaws. :) No slapping from me.

mumsachocoholic · 20/02/2012 10:09

YANBU... i love them too.. i second finding some on ebay. my bil finishes a massive 1500 piece one in 2 days... i was astounded.. the pieces were tiny.

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 20/02/2012 10:10

YANBU, that's reminded me I need to buy dd a jigsaw roll today!

LikeAnAdventCandleButNotQuite · 20/02/2012 11:48

Thanks ladies, off to Ebay it is then! Would you recommend charity shops, or will there be tons of pieces missing?

I find them so relaxing!.

Catsmamma · 20/02/2012 19:25

oooh i love jigsaws, they appeal to my compulsively ordered side. We often had one on the go at my parent's house, used to really pee my dad off when he had given it up and someone (usually me) would go and snap in half a dozen pieces just like that

mwhahaha!!

Jellykat · 20/02/2012 20:30

I love Jigsaws too, my DSs and i have one on the go every christmas.. its a long relaxing tradition.

I saw a notice in my local 'British Heart Foundation' charity shop last week, asking for volunteers to do the jigsaws that come in - in order to check they're complete before selling.. One could volunteer, but if not, seems they do check 'em before being sold.

I know!
A little bit of me thought 'Ooo excellent, that's my long Winter evenings sorted when/if DS2 ever leaves home' (along with MN of course) Grin

INeverFinishAnythi · 20/02/2012 22:01

YANBU! I love a puzzle. It makes me so cross when DS (3!!) is rubbish at them, I just want to take over!

McHappyPants2012 · 20/02/2012 22:05

I like the ones on cd rom, you can save them and no pieces missing
