...Rochdale.
Good God it's a god forsaken place. There appears to be half a dozen payday loan shos, a few poundland things and some mobile 'phone shops.
It's got so bad that even maccy d's has shut down.
It's only redeeming feature is that Gabbots farm is still clinging on.

Another person defending Stevenage or St.Evenage as we like to call it. Yes, the new town is very 70's and suffers from poor town planning, i.e, many pound and discount shops, but the Old Town is very nice and even has a "naice" supermarket Wink I grew up near Watford and actually prefer Stevenage, it's more "honest" Smile

M0naLisa DD lives in Hull and have spent many a happy hour in that neck of the woods.

lesley33 · 18/02/2012 10:51

i wouldn't put Livingston in the worst towns though. Yes its a new town so basically a couple of large soulless shopping centres - bit like milton keynes. But not like some ugly town centres with lots of boarded up shops.

GhastlyBespoke · 18/02/2012 10:51

ItsSnow - you know what, I'm currently sat in Tiffany's in the town centre with a Cream Tea and feeling quite warm about the old town Grin

x2boys · 18/02/2012 10:52

its a small world itssnowdarling.

BodaciousTatas · 18/02/2012 10:53

Who put Tooting?? I love it there, had a massive Primark and the indoor market bit had a brill fish and meat stall.

Makes a change from nearby centre court on Wimbledon which looks lovely but is dull.

ENormaSnob · 18/02/2012 10:53

X2boys, yep that's me.

I nearly bought a house in the same place as you. Love stoneclough.

ItsSnowDarling · 18/02/2012 10:53

I'm in a part of Bolton beginning with H (not Horwich).

GhastlyBespoke · 18/02/2012 10:55

Ooh I live in an H too. Bet yours is posher than mine.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/02/2012 10:56

Yes Stoke is pretty grim as a town - if you think the bit nearest the railway station is as good as it gets.

As a City it's not so bad, we are a city you know, we have a Minster and everything so really shouldn't be included in this thread at all Wink

ThePieSmuggler · 18/02/2012 10:56

I completely agree with the OP, Rochdale is just awful! And god help me I'm heading there now, if I don't post again then the likelihood is I didn't make it out alive Sad

ItsSnowDarling · 18/02/2012 10:57

I'm the other side of town - near a big cemetry!

dementedma · 18/02/2012 11:04

Cumbernauld - ohhhh, the bus station Shock

GhastlyBespoke · 18/02/2012 11:06

Ah see I said you were in the posher bit.

We're near town. Not far from what used to be Ritzy. It's delIghtful Hmm

moogster1a · 18/02/2012 11:06

pie smuggler will you bring me back a couple of samosas from the Samosa stop?
In fact, I may have to retract my OP as the Samosa Stop makes up for the grimness. ( actually, no it doesn't)

lesley33 · 18/02/2012 11:06
