To think that this 'class' business is frankly frightful?

why do so many (daily mail especially) people describe themselves proudly as 'modern middle class?' and then go on to describe their children's 'bwilliant pwivate school' and how 'very bwight!!!' their kids are?

the same people then go on about sink estates and single parents claiming benefits (even though they have no idea about living in the real world let alone the truth behind people's circumstances)

go on the mail online and read the terribly amusing article thea jourdan has written about the apparent failure of her modern middle class parenting.

Yyyyyaaaawwwnnn...... People seriously need to get some new material as 'daily mail reader' is so last century

Secrecy · 16/02/2012 22:08

Why are middle class people unable to pronounce their r's?!!

mrscumberbatch · 16/02/2012 22:08

I think it's better to ignore this class tripe altogether and just focus on being a nice human being.

If everyone was nice there would be no sink estates and everyone would be too guilt ridden to falsely claim benefits.

mrscumberbatch for prime minister : 1st campaign. Be nice, or else.

OpinionatedMum · 16/02/2012 22:09

YABU you are being an inverted snob.

IUseTooMuchKitchenRoll · 16/02/2012 22:10
Hmm
ChaosTrulyReigns · 16/02/2012 22:10

Why read the Mail Online if it riles you?

Confused
LaBoccaDellaVerita · 16/02/2012 22:11

More piffle. Is it 'International Write Some Piffle on MN Day' today or what?

OP posts:
Secrecy · 16/02/2012 22:25

Classes exist for historical context MentalMuslimMummy.

You can live without living by the silly structure.

And yabu because you haven't voted yet Grin

MentalMuslimMummy · 16/02/2012 22:29

just for the record, my family are what one would describe as 'middle class'

I on the other hand live on a housing estate in south east london. my neighbours are mild druggies and there is a notorious gang that hang around this particular estate. I live here because I choose to and unlike many of my own family members, understand that life is not all about foreign holidays, spending £115 on a coat and moaning about fees for private school.

Votes Cumberbatch, sips Wine gently.

minimathsmouse · 16/02/2012 22:34

No it's about slumming it in east london like you are one of the real working class.

RaPaPaPumPumBootyMum · 16/02/2012 22:34

Ah ha, read the article.

Oh yes, she is rather pleased with herself and her lot isn't she.

She has difficulties taming her entitled brood despite the fact that they are not from a "sink estate".

And stealth boasting much Hmm

But then this is the DM, the newspaper everyone loves to froth over. They seem to have the silliest female journalists whose lives bear little resemblance to anyone I've ever met or known [and I also do not reside on a sink estate, whatever that means]

splashymcsplash · 16/02/2012 22:35

who are these people? I've never met any.

mrscumberbatch · 16/02/2012 22:35

MentalMuslimMummy · 16/02/2012 22:35
