to hope my MIL gets just a little bit more V&D

I have had my two DD's (3 & 6) tag team vomiting this weekend, and then DH came down with it. I spent most of the weekend scrubbing bodily fluids off carpets, rubbing backs and holding hair back(and that was just my DH) Grin

Turns out MIL had it at the weekend too.

I have a rather important exam on Monday and said "I hope I don't get it" she pipes up, "Well, of course, you've already had it, you gave it to everyone"

I was rather confused until she told me that she considered the V&D bug that I had on 17th December to be the offending incident.

I thought I was rather reserved not telling her to fuck right off, but I am secretly hoping the vomit comes out of her nose. oops "Bad Marilyn!"

Just aim the sick at her when you get it Grin
Then you can say "well looks like it didn't start with me afterall" Grin

That's a pretty vile attitude, OP. Wishing illness on someone makes you sound slightly unhinged...

plutocrap · 15/02/2012 04:12

YABU, unless she gave it to you all, through selfishness. Wishing it on her like this is very mean.

well I can see the funny side of your post Grin

TanteRose · 15/02/2012 04:16

there's a lot of it about - could have come from anywhere

also, its D&V...(I thought at first you were wishing venereal disease on your MIL Shock)

DaenerysTargaryenButCallMeDany · 15/02/2012 04:16

my cousin said to me today, "I think you've given me your bug, I'm feeling really hot and sick, thanks a lot"

I had a cough a week and a half ago Hmm

SaltResistantSlug · 15/02/2012 09:18

It's kind of irritating, though, when you get blamed for spreading infection as if YOU wanted to suffer with it in the first place!

Not to mention that December was quite a while ago now...

Grin re DH comment.

GavisconJunkie · 15/02/2012 09:23

I too can see the funny side of your Post!

Marilyn1980 · 15/02/2012 09:34

If I'd meant venereal disease I would've said VD. V&D is vomiting & diarrhoea, the order I tend to say it in. I wasn't wishing any illness on her as she still had it.

ponders what people would shorten it to if the shop were called Spencers & Marks

Geez, glad some of you have a sense of humour.

OP posts:
SaltResistantSlug · 15/02/2012 09:38

Does VD still exist?

Marilyn1980 · 15/02/2012 09:45

it is an old term for any sexually transmitted infection.

As an aside, you'd better not be a new breed of mutant slug, I spent weeks keeping those bastards away from my lettuce with a ring of salt.

Second coming. Far more likely her dd will catch her mothers stupidity. Poor thing.

coraltoes · 15/02/2012 09:58

Btw, I hope he is feeling better!

SaltResistantSlug · 15/02/2012 09:59

Ah right! I wasn't sure, there's an old VD clinic near us and I assumed that as it's been turned into a restaurant [sceptical] it might be one of those illnesses conquered by medical science.

And no, I'm scared of slugs and my idea of hell is a SR one.

Groovee · 15/02/2012 09:59

Ironically dh's brother's family are horrific for having sickness bugs and often share them by not staying home. Then they get all annoyed that we've copied them!

SaltResistantSlug · 15/02/2012 10:00

Should have been Hmm

usualsuspect · 15/02/2012 10:01

Maybe you did give it to everyone though
