spolit only by not being able to take two steps without steping in dog poo!

this was deffiantely not fox poo.... i can recognise that its distinctive.

Dog owners should be banned until they can clear up after themselves!

YANBU

Currently some disgusting dog owners keep letting their dogs shit on the path right in front of DD's school gate. The walk to school is often done on tip toes, dodging the dog shit, and I've lost count of the number of times we've had it all over the buggy wheels! Revolting!

GrahamTribe · 14/02/2012 23:40

You should expect to be able visit any outdoor area without stepping in dogshit but you know it doesn't work like that. Unfortunately the minority - i.e. the irresponsible owners - won't pick up regardless of where they are and don't make an exception for NT land.

theincredibequeenofwands · 14/02/2012 23:48

I see more dog poo than dogs these days. Has a dogs general diet changed??

And what happened to the white dog poos that I saw as a child (80s). Where did they go?

GrahamTribe · 14/02/2012 23:51

Dogs' diets have surely changed dramatically over the past few years. The lack of white poo is presumably an indication of that.

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 15/02/2012 10:24

Isn't the lack of white poo because dogs don't tend to have proper bones to eat these days. Years ago people would just give their dogs bones straight out of meat, but now because of the risk of the bone splintering and injuring the dog, everyone buys bones and chews from pet shops

MateyMooo · 15/02/2012 10:29

funnily enough i posted the same rant in 'the doghouse' and expected to get flamed. I gone one response.....' it wasnt me' (or my dog)

Dunno if this is true, but friend said: if dogs are fed on lots of raw meat with many bones in it (this is how she fed her dogs), they will produce mostly white poos, that go dry quickly, that don't stink as much, and are much much easier for everyone to dispose of in every way. I think canned dog food is quite rich, by comparison, which results in relatively richer waste product.

When I die I'd like to be reincarnated as a dog in her household. :)

cambridgeferret · 15/02/2012 12:49

I spend more time stepping in cow and sheep poo than dog poo at NT properties.
But I do agree it's the height of irresponsibility to not clean up after your dog.
Had a large pile left outside my house on Saturday......... but it was frozen so we got a stick and sort of snookered it out of the way. :)

wildfig · 15/02/2012 13:04

Why did you expect to get flamed in The Doghouse? Dog-owners who don't pick up poo really irritate dog-owners who do - possibly even more so than non-dog-owners, as because of them, every dog owner gets tarred with the same shitty stick brush.

Rhinestone · 15/02/2012 14:44

I have a dog, always pick up after her and completely agree with wildfig - believe it or not I don't want to tread in dog poo either and neither do I want people to assume I'm one of the dipshit irresponsible dog people around.

I saw a big pile of poo not 20ft from a children's play area the other day, I was furious. And yes, I did pick it up as always take a few spare poo bags out with me.

kumquatsarethelonelyfruit · 15/02/2012 16:26

We went out to a NT forest for a walk over Xmas. After two minutes we were ALL covered in dog shit (orange) and as I looked around, I counted SIX plastic dog shit bags that had been flung on the ground. We turned round and came home, covered in shit with our day ruined.
