Today is my last day of "freedom". Tomorrow morning I will leave the house at 7am for an elcs for DC2.

She arrived yesterday, the spare room is made up but she stayed up late last night watching a film and fell asleep under MY SOFA BLANKET! ;)

I came down about an hour ago and she woke up for a chat but wouldn't go upstairs.

I know it's not the worst thing in the world but I just want her to FO upstairs so I can fart, pick my nose and sit with my legs akimbo and did I mention she's hogged my blanket??? Aaargh!

Sofa sleeping is annoying. And in someone else's house is Plain Fucking Rude. My ExFIL did this one Xmas day afternoon, using my blanket. I was FURIOUS.

She's here to look after my son whilst I'm in hospital this week - she flies home Thursday and I should be out of hospital on Thursday. So she's very much wanted here - just not on my fecking couch wearing my blankie at 4:30am! Wink

I read that wrong... I thought you said 'she's here to look after her son while I'm in hospital'. Which made me very concerned for you OP!

Yes. Take your blankie upstairs tonight. And leave the hounds out.

Oh well, at least she's wanted (by you) and it's only a few days/nights (and you wont be there for most of her stay) - it could be a lot worse.

When you go to bed tonight just say to her 'MIL are you coming up with us, I wouldn't want to have to wake you up again so early, I tend to come down at 4am and nap on the sofa as it's the only place I can get comfortable' & take you blanket up with you. If she's there in the morning, wake her up and ask her to move - you have made it clear it's your space at 4am.

And turn the heating off/down

OK if you went to bed at 8 then her staying up later was OK, falling asleep on your sofa wasn't though. If you're tired you go to bed, especially in someone else's house.
