To think that saying you're available for work from a certain date doesn't necessarily mean you will start then.

Shit.

DH was offered a job in Qatar out of the blue. We talked, he accepted. He currently works away so communication can be stilted. Last I heard he had told new employer that the earliest he could go would be a week on Monday.

Tonight I found out, only by accident, that he is indeed leaving then. He hadn't told me. Apparently I should have known because that was the date he gave.

I should probably get off MN and start preparing for three months with 3 DDs all on me tod. Instead, I'm having a glass of wine. Or two.

Communicate DH, communicate. Grr.

Well, er, yes Grin the date you say you are available from is the date you are available from Grin I am available from Monday = I can start on Monday.

TheAvocadoOfInteriorDesign · 09/02/2012 21:44

yabu, I'm afraid.

AgentProvocateur · 09/02/2012 21:45

Oh, dear - have more wine Wink I hate to add to your woes, but I'd take the "available from" date as a starting date too.

My DH works away most of the time too, but he's usually home at weekends. I do sympathise with you.

YABU

Although I would assume some communication the house to go "Darling! I got the job, I start on Monday" as opposed to Tonight I found out, only by accident, that he is indeed leaving then. He hadn't told me.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 09/02/2012 21:52

yes, YABU, but I can sympathise - mine's being sent to Russia for 3 months in a couple of weeks. I'm really going to miss him but it has its upsides - I can cook stuff he doesn't like and can watch what I want on the telly.

And that means I have to sort out everything to do with us moving out there by myself as he'll already have disappeared! I know, I know - get a grip, deal with it.

YABU but he could have actually confirmed it... oh he did, tonight, but only by accident.

Can he take MY DH with him? He's not starting his big contract for another 8 weeks, much as I love him I wish it was a week on Monday, he just takes up too much damn space... he's completely overtaken the lounge floor with paperwork, his desk lies redundant and he's blocking the fire.

Chin up.

Xmasbaby11 · 09/02/2012 22:26

YABU ... oops! Crikey love, hope that's a box of wine you've got there!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 09/02/2012 22:28

tigerlillyd02 · 10/02/2012 02:45

robino · 10/02/2012 07:20

aldiwhore yep, DH can take him. But only if you do me a deal on getting some sort of Mary Poppins/ professional organiser type person in to help me Grin

atruth let me get a cup of tea down my neck and then I have my notebooks at the ready. .
