Was walking my poor doggy minding our own business and two dogs jumped on her and pinned her to the ground and bit her. She screamed. I took her to the vets and she has sutures and anti-biotics and I am eyeing the wine and frankly in a State.

Pore ol her and me Sad

:( Hope your dog is ok, poor thing.

{{ doggy hugs }}

As for you - relaxing bath, pj's and some chocolate (wine already been mentioned)

ChickensGoMeh · 09/02/2012 15:59

Your poor hound :(

FedUpOfTheBunfightsSeaCow · 09/02/2012 16:00

Police! Hope your doggie gets better soon Smile Wine

SecretNutellaFix · 09/02/2012 16:00

Police. Dog Wardens can do very little.

Did you get bitten?

boredandrestless · 09/02/2012 16:00
Shock

Aw Hully your poor dog and poor you! Hope she gets better soon.

I hope he has given you his correct info Hmm was anyone else around when it happened?

Jins · 09/02/2012 16:01

Police. Dangerous dogs is a police matter. The dog warden can't do anything.

He's got a rottie and an Akita???? Shock How small is his cock? Wink

ChickensGoMeh · 09/02/2012 16:01

When our pup was bitten (and so was I) I called the local police station. They sent a policeman out to see me, and he then went to the other dog owner's house and had a word. It was most satisfactory, no one had to have their dog PTS and the other owner realised that it was being taken seriously. His dog is now muzzled when out in public.

MitchieInge · 09/02/2012 16:02

Wtf what a combination, in terms of potential for injury :(

all those spitz type dogs are beautiful but bit more prone to this sort of thing, I think

you can tell the police and a dog warden but obviously canine - canine aggression impossible, their cues for fighting can be invisible to us

EirikurNoromaour · 09/02/2012 16:04

Wait til he has paid your vet bill before you report him. Seriously. God how scary :(

Jins · 09/02/2012 16:05

If he's got petplan or similar then the bill will be covered through that.

BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 09/02/2012 16:06

don't jump on me if you are an Akita owner (anybody reading) but I am very weary of that breed, more so than Staffies (I love staffies btw, but they're the supposed terror-dog aren't they!).

I read an article about the Akita being a particularly vicious breed - it was ages ago, I can barely remember it but it stuck in my mind and since then I steer clear. DD loves Huskies and often confuses Akita's with Huskies, I'm trying to get her to realise the difference between the two breeds.

But so saying, Rotties are renowned for being vicious and yet the one's I've met have been very timid/friendly.

Not that any of this helps you or your pooch, but it just adds to my fear of Akitas!

I used to have an Akita. My cock is non existant. Not sure what that has to do with anything. They are good dogs when well socialised and owned by responsible people.

I hope Hullydog recovers soon. I'd report to the dog warden. Dog to dog aggression is not an offence, although it could be argued the dog was dangerously out of control, it usually only applies if injury to a person occurs. There will be nothing the police can do, but the dog warden may go round and have a chat with him about muzzles and more secure collars.

QuickLookBusy · 09/02/2012 16:08

Oh your poor dog Sad and poor you.

I would contact the police.

The dogs need to be muzzled if they can't be trusted. Thank goodness your dog is going to be ok but they can't be given another chance, they could do much worse next time.

misdee · 09/02/2012 16:08

poor hullydoodle :(

Ingles2 · 09/02/2012 16:09

oh! Sad your poor dog Hully.. Call police on non emergency number today, you need it logged, especially if there is any issue with paying the vet bill.
How awful though.

Jins · 09/02/2012 16:09

They are DOoin - totally agree. My friend had a lovely Akita. However they are very much status dogs for the hard of thinking round here.

BeeBawBabbity · 09/02/2012 16:09

Oh how awful. I have a goldendoodle too, she's like a third child to me and I'm terrified of this happening. She's very submissive and would never fight back.

So you are absolutely not being unreasonable, I'd be in a state too. And furious.

Hugs, and Wine

Punchthosecalories · 09/02/2012 16:10

Hully Hope that you both feel better soon. What an awful experience :(

Sad

I remember when driving to the gym I saw this sweet little terrier thing being set upon by two lurcher type dogs, they had no owner with them and the owner of the little dog being attacked was pregnant and in bits, thankfully a bloke came out of a nearby house with a broom and managed to get them off.

We drove her and the dog home, poor little thing was shivering so bad.

Hope your dog gets better soon Hully.

ClumsyClogs · 09/02/2012 16:14

My dog was attacked once, I saw red and jumped to break them up - mine was an Alsatian (she died :() and the other was a big boxer-type dog
I could have been seriously hurt but only had a cut from the other dog's collar
It's bloody frightening isn't it!

There there Hully, you'll both be OK.

Have some Wine

CrabbyBigbottom · 09/02/2012 16:15

I'm traumatised just reading this... does that mean I can have wine too? Grin

Hully I'm so sorry to hear that, what a terrifying experience - I'd be distraught. A smaller dog could easily been killed. I second the person saying ensure he pays the vet bill first, then report him.

TuftyFinch · 09/02/2012 16:15

Oh Hully what a shitter! Your poor dog.

I think wine in perfectly acceptable, you'll be a bit shaken up, but make sure you eat something later otherwise you'll be all pissed.

Report to police. I'm glad your dog's ok if a little damaged and shaken.

Punchthosecalories · 09/02/2012 16:16

Clumseyclogs I'm so sorry to hear your story.

Jins · 09/02/2012 16:17

I've helped to attempt to put together a JRT that was set on by two dobermans owned by the most ineffective person ever. It was not a pretty sight and despite a couple of hours work the little dog didn't make it. It was really hideous. I still think of the poor woman owner now :(

Any dog can be dangerous if the owner is incompetent but the bigger ones can definitely cause more damage
