to not really understand meal planning?

Blush

I feel like I spend more money when I plan actual meals, because I have to track down ingredients I wouldn't usually get, etc. And yet I hate just buying a bunch of groceries and throwing something together, because it seems like we have the same (boring) thing all the time.

Am I doing it wrong? Any meal planning tips?

That's okay Biddy, I need the help! :)

Last night I made pork chops in the slow cooker and we had baked potatoes w/sour cream (on sale, so I bought a large container as I have a recipe for chowder that also calls for it) and some broccoli with cheese sauce. The broccoli and cheese came frozen in a packet

There were enough leftovers for DH's lunch and also I froze some chops to make a pork and noodle dish next week.

I am thawing ground chicken for tonight and will make a taco skillet, also will have enough ground chicken left to put in the spaghetti sauce for tomorrow night.

Yay, me! :o

Cheerful Yank - it sounds like you have the basic idea there!!

Enjoy - it sounds like nice dinners in your house this week!! (And it's too early to think about food - boo - I'm starving and lunch is hours away yet....)
