It is DD's 2nd birthday today. Not only have I had to cancel her birthday party but DH stayed overnight with her at MIL's last night to give me a peaceful evening to finish the party arrangements and it looks possible that they are stuck there. So I might not even see DD at all on her birthday.

So everyone that is going on about how exciting the fucking snow is - yeah, great. it's great WHEN YOUR PLANS AREN'T FUCKED BY IT

We get it, Scottish. You don't give a shit about being with your children on their birthdays. Bully for you. It's not something to show off about IMO

You're paraphrasing,badly
Now did I actually say that
No
But do continue.as you were

Birdsgottafly · 05/02/2012 11:00

Scottish-perhaps you should realise that it isn't up to you how much someone should be upset by something.

southeastastra · 05/02/2012 11:00

i feel sorry for op, a cancelled party is horrible when you've take so long to plan it :(

this place is getting harder and harder to post what you really feel without some loony getting their knickers in a twist

perplexedpirate · 05/02/2012 11:01

scottishmummy But you're not just 'not sharing the overwhelming pain' are you? You're being snarky and supercilious and demeaning. Its uncalled for and just plain nasty.

TheFallenMadonna · 05/02/2012 11:01

I would be upset if I couldn't see my child on her birthday. People are being weird...

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/02/2012 11:02

Nigle - I'd be disappointed and annoyed too.

If only there was an ignore poster function Wink

OhdearNigel · 05/02/2012 11:03

I'm not interested in your opinion Scottish, you are making yourself look like a complete and total idiot. But feel free to carry on, it's really quite entertaining.
to be fair, you don't need me to argue with - you sound as if you could have a fight with yourself in a phone box

Indeed, and nor is it up to someone to suppose my reaction to myvchildren or parties
fwiw,if my dc birthday falls on nursery day I haven't held party on that day waited til weekend. Have party at nursery

OnlyWantsOne · 05/02/2012 11:04

Wouldn't worry about party as you can move it like you said.

But work out a way to get to her. Walk if you have to. I'm sure the roads aren't that bad. I live in rural country in Suffolk and there are people coping here.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 11:05

Nigel you're a right turn,v funny
Deliciously so

OhdearNigel · 05/02/2012 11:06

OWO - how long exactly do you think it would take to walk 25 miles in the snow ?

OP posts:
MissAnnersley · 05/02/2012 11:07

OP, I would disappointed too.

GypsyMoth · 05/02/2012 11:09

It's thawing here a little. The roads are being driven on so it's getting easier. Is he planning on coming back with her?

OnlyWantsOne · 05/02/2012 11:12

Get in your car and drive then

OnlyWantsOne · 05/02/2012 11:12

And fwiw the snow was forecast. For at least 3/4 days I've known that snow was due last night.

GypsyMoth · 05/02/2012 11:13

Well it will freeze over later, making conditions extra difficult. If anyone drives, I think her DH should come back home. Or op could be stuck at in laws...

What's the plan op??

OhdearNigel · 05/02/2012 11:13

We only have one car and it is 25 miles away.

OP posts:
LetsKateWin · 05/02/2012 11:14

The car is with her DH I think

LetsKateWin · 05/02/2012 11:14

x posts

OnlyWantsOne · 05/02/2012 11:15

Ask some one for a lift or get your DH to come home.

OhdearNigel · 05/02/2012 11:17

Plan is that DH is going to come back about 3pm. I have told him that I would rather stay at MILs overnight rather than come home if it's too slippy.

C41ontrary to what some people's overactive imaginations seem to think I am not sitting as home wailing and gnashing my teeth. We've rejigged the party and now I'm using the unexpected day off to finish off my decluttering campaign

OP posts:
OhdearNigel · 05/02/2012 11:18

Rather he stays at Mils overnight, that is.

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 05/02/2012 11:18

Well hope your day gets better!

OhdearNigel · 05/02/2012 11:20

I have a customer picking up a birthday cake later so might take myself out for a coffee this afternoon with some of the proceeds
