I might just be biased through only having had freeview till recently, but (apart from Thomas) don't you find the commercial channels a bit overwhelming? The kids on them seem more brash as well, and more badly behaved.

Or am I missing an amazing, calm, educational channel? We have tivo so we can skip adverts now.

slight tangent but my grandad would never watch the news on any channel other than bbc,as that was the 'real' news Hmm

Mist on 5 is also very good. But CBeebies is by far the best, although I do hate waybaloo and In the night garden.

I used to love The Hoobs (Channel 4) which - luckily for us was on at about mid-morning when dd was per-school age. Each episode was a mini-science experiment. Hypothesis formation, evidence gathering, data analysis, conclusion. Fantastic! They only made a few programmes though.

Last I saw of it, it was on at 6am. Relegated. Sad

Oh, dd loved it too, btw!

I am a horrible Mummy... and have got rid of the whole lot! lol

I don't have all the paid cable style channels... only freeview equivalent. I dislike the repeatition and the adverts... and just all of it lol.

We have lots of dvds instead. It also means I am less tempted to just have it on all day and have her zombified so I have peace and quiet lol.
