Currently trying hard to budget and allocate funds to goceries petrol etc. Managed to
lose forty quid today though.
££s were in a little envelope (fell out of top pocket of coat when i was putting sthg in it) with purpose written on front (petrol and kids trip money)
Noone has handed in.. Am consoling myself by desper......ately hoping
its been picked up by someone in a v tight squeeze.not that it wont have a big affect on us..The alternative 'finders/keepers' mentality makes me wince a little.. So AIBU?

Sad I'm sorry. You're not BU. I hope someone does hand it in.

Finders keepers works for me if it is loose but in an envelope with what it's for written on it would be handed in. I hope someone honest and not skint hands it in.

McHappyPants2012 · 30/01/2012 17:18

Even though I am short of money I would hand it in.

The karma gods would only repay me a visit otherwise lol

JustHecate · 30/01/2012 17:42

See THIS is why I would never do the 'finders keepers' thing. On the other end of your bit of 'good luck' is someone who's lost it and who may very well be really struggling.

I really hope it gets handed in.

googietheegg · 30/01/2012 18:25

Where would they hand it in to though? Were you at work?

I do hope you get it back somehow

myheadsamarley · 30/01/2012 19:16

googie.. it was in dc's school/school grounds... forgot to mention that salient point!!!

I am trying to be a 'bigger' person so that i dont end up ranting and raving at kids/dh - they sure as hell dont deserve my sharp tongue hee hee!

Just gonna chalk it up to experience and in the future put monies in jeans pocket/similar! Irony is i was trying to cost our family less ££ by avoiding impulse purchases with purse/switch :(

Try the police, that's where I'd hand it in to.

Glittertwins · 30/01/2012 19:41

I would have handed it in to school office.

Bogeyface · 30/01/2012 20:08

Ask the school if they will send a note out asking if anyone found it to hand it in. I would be very surprised if the person who picked it up wasnt seen by someone.
