I just can't cope with only having my precious photos on disk. I just have to have proper actual hardcopy photos, just in case. No idea why and it costs a bloody bomb to get them all printed.

Aibu and do I need to embrace 21st century paperless technology more? DH thinks I am wasting money.

I loove printed pictures, and I love filing the good ones in albums and labelling them all, and I absolutely adore rifling through old boxes of random pictures much later Smile

I always look at digital as being able to just print the good ones and delete all the crap before it makes it off the SD card.

OP do you get everything printed, regardless of quality or do you just select your favourites - maybe to put in frames/albums?

CumberdickBendybatch · 30/01/2012 11:31

I've been meaning to do this for ages - not every single one, but I want to print out all the good ones and then select ones for various photo albums. I've got 4 years of holiday photo's that need to go in albums and loads of DS.. might finally get around to it now.

I say YANBU. I am of the same mindset. Shop around the online printing companies, perhaps?

Photobox gave me 100 free photos. Just sayin'.

YANBU.. photos are memories for family in years to come.

All of my newish photos are digital and I store them on a portable hard drive attached to my telly via USB.

Using the telly remote I can browse through them without looking into cupboards for old boxes or moth-eaten albums.

Technology is great embrace it :)

We get some printed for albums and to go in frames. I wouldn't get them all printed 'just in case' though. Do you mean if you lose the electronic copy? Better surely to make sure you have good backups? I would think paper copies are more likely to get lost or damaged, than well-backed-up digital ones.

Nope. I print my photos. Although I am moving towards getting photobooks made up (the kind that print directly onto the paper) rather than printing individual photos now to put in albums now.

(I am another Photobox fan.)

Yanbu. I upload the best ones every so often and order a batch every season.

EssexGurl · 30/01/2012 14:36

I am selecting some really good photos of my DCs and putting them in albums to give to them when they hit 18 or 21. I hate the idea of everything being on computer and nothing tangible to see. I still have a little album from when I was little and put my own photos in. Love to look at me and my cousin dressing up! YANBU - think it is wonderful thing to have around, especially for children as they grow up and future grandchildren,

I always print out my pictures, I LOVE having actual copies of them. I want to be able to sit with a box of pictures with my kids when they're older and show them to them with stories and all that sentimental rubbish :P its just not the same doing that with them on a screen.

Oh, also, I use photobox.co.uk and very rarely have to pay for my prints using them. They give away free prints like they don't care about money or something, its brilliant.
