Pretty sure I ANBU btw. Anyway neighbour is having front garden landscaped. We share a driveway entrance. All week i have been inconvenienced because his builders keep blocking the drive and/ or blocking me in. I am in and out all day and I keep having to ask the builders to move their vans, lorries, 4 x 4. Then have to wait while they faff around moving stuff. For a large part of morning the driveway was blocked. Anyway, just got home from school run and I find the builder has parked a trailer in one of my parking spaces, and intends to leave it their overnight! I have three parking spaces btw, neighbour has two, but often manages to squeeze four cars into his spaces.
I never ever block neighbour in or park in his spaces. They have on numerous occasions parked blocking our third space, or their visitors have parked in our third space. I went round and complained to neighbour. He apologised and offered to get builder to move it. To be honest, had he asked permission to park there, I would have probably agreed but to just park in my space is just really rude.

YANBU.

I am however jealous of your 3 parking spaces! Do you have 3 cars? (I know that's not really the point).

AThingInYourLife · 26/01/2012 17:23

I think you've made your point now, just let it go.

QueenSconetta · 26/01/2012 17:25

YANBU, this sort of thing drives me mad! Like you say, if they'd asked, fine.

ShatnersBassoon · 26/01/2012 17:25

YANBU to be annoyed that they used it without permission, but you shouldn't let it ruin your day. It's an irritation, nothing more.

Will you have somewhere else safe to put your car until the trailer is shifted tomorrow?

Shutupanddrive · 26/01/2012 17:55

YANBU, if you can't use your space then leave your car in the way of the trailer and/or neighbours cars so they can't get out

The neighbours also approached us about redoing the gravel on the drive. We agreed it needed doing and the neighbour said she would get some quotes and get back to us. She knocked on the door late sunday night and said she had booked a builder who would be starting this week and our share would be £300 !! Shock I can't believe the cheek of them organising that without checking it was ok. Last time the drive was done it cost £150. And then all the hoo haa with the builders blocking me in, and then just dumping a trailer in my parking place and telling the builders that was fine without even asking me. The thing is i would never park on his space. One of the builders also is just rude imho. I go past him several times a day and he never even acknowledges me. Surely a quick hello or morning would be nice?
