It's a light-hearted joke about an overweight person wanting to be skinny and if God can't achieve that then how about making everyone else bigger so they fit in.
Even if it was serious, surely it would be up to each person to decide what it is and isn't appropriate to pray for?

Ring I grew up in an Irish Catholic family and as much as most Irish Catholics of that time took (as some still do) their religion very seriously, they were King of the 'Irish Blessings'...even our Parish Priest used to say "May you get to heaven half an hour before the Devil knows you're dead"

I can understand why, if your religion is very important to you, that you'd find it irritating, so you wouldn't do it.
