Lego fans will know what I'm talking about.

Why would you say NinJAHgo?

I am not prepared to hear IABU btw Wink

Nin-jay-go

PoppadumPreach · 25/01/2012 18:45

i assume it's pseudo Japanese therefore there would be no emphasis on any syllable.

just like when people say saSHimi they are wrong, it is sa-shi-mi, with no emphasis.

Lumiya · 25/01/2012 18:45

Nin-jar-go. You are weird to think that it's anything else.

PoppadumPreach · 25/01/2012 18:45

sa-SHI-mi

DramaInPyjamas · 25/01/2012 18:46

The ads on TV pronounce it Nin-jah-go

minimisschief · 25/01/2012 18:47

nin jah go

because thats how they say it in the adverts. not really debatable.

Lumiya · 25/01/2012 18:47

It's not pseudo. It's very really, at least in thus house.

PattiMayor · 25/01/2012 18:50

Aha I haven't seen the adverts. But you say ninja don't you? Not Nin-JAH. Obviously if you are attacking someone that is different.

I rest my case :o

(Poppadum - I do say nin-ja-go but was trying to emphasise that I was putting no stress whatsoever on the 2nd syllable)

OP posts:
EcoLady · 25/01/2012 18:50

Nin-JAH-go definitely. Sorry!

MrsMellowDrummer · 25/01/2012 19:00

You are wrong.

It's nin jar go....

For definite.

(Nin jar GO! when singing the highly addictive theme tune.)

PoppadumPreach · 25/01/2012 19:01

Patti in that case i think you are right!

Firawla · 25/01/2012 19:01

I thought it was nin-jah-go.. just roles off the tongue easier

aldiwhore · 25/01/2012 19:01

Its Nin-ja-go

Not NinjaGO

Perhaps you're thinking ThundercatsHo!

PattiMayor · 25/01/2012 19:06

Actually thinking about it (I'm overthinking it), you say NIN-ja don't you?

Hence my saying 'NIN-ja-go' (veeeery slight stress on the 1st syllable)

My child is going to be shunned by his schoolmates for not having seen the ads and pronounced the words in a dodgy Danish accent :(

Fucking Lego Angry

molepom · 25/01/2012 19:06

thisisyesterday · 25/01/2012 19:07

i always say Ninja-go

have not seen any adverts or anything tho as we don't have broadcast tv.
but that's how it makes sense to me!

mosschops30 · 25/01/2012 20:34

Nin-jah-go in our house

PattiMayor · 25/01/2012 20:41

So, it's ninjago if you haven't seen the ads, ninJAHgo if you have.

That'll sort the sky cable owners from the rest of us then! :o

OP posts:
Popoozle · 25/01/2012 20:51

Nin-jar-go. For sure.

RainboweBrite · 25/01/2012 21:05

NinJAHgo from me too. Sorry, OP.

Bogeyface · 25/01/2012 21:07

We say nin-jar-go.

We originally said it that way before son had one, then we bought it and I saw the whole saying "Ninja Go" bit in the instructions and thought I was a dick for getting it wrong so changed to Ninja-go and then saw the advert and reverted back to original pronounciation.

Saddo aren't I?!

PattiMayor · 25/01/2012 21:10

But they are wrong! You sheep :o

DD1 (8) got quite angry with me when I pronounced it Nin-JAR-go. She stated it was Ninja-GO, and would have it no other way. So as the mighty 8 year old has spoken in our house it's Ninja-GO.
