to be cross at DH because I dreamt he cheated on me?

I know IABU!

But I had a horrible, horrible dream where DH cheated on me with one of our friends, fell in love with her, they moved out leaving me devastated and trying to tell people who kept hanging up on me and then DH would walk up the stairs and take things away from the weird dream-house while the children cried.

Then the OW was their teacher.

Then loads of people I don't like arrived at the door with Ocado bags and criticised my housekeeping while DH laughed at me as I begged him to come back to me.

Woke up properly traumatised with sleeping DH next to me.

I have been off with him all day! I know it's ridiculous and it wasn't really him but my brain still feels like he's done something terrible to me!

He's getting a bit narked now.

Shock Definitely leave the bastard :o

throckenholt · 25/01/2012 13:29

I have had dreams where DH has done something really horrible and I have woken up feeling really angry with him. Even tough you know it was a dream you still have the feelings. I guess the thing to work out is is there something you ar eworrying about that might have prompted the dream.

I would tell DH about the dream (not necessarily all the details )- at least then he will know why you seem a bit odd today.

lesley33 · 25/01/2012 13:31

Are you my DP posting under a slightly changed scenario! Seriously my DP did this to me. DP did tell me though so I knew DP was being ridiculous and could ignore back.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 25/01/2012 13:31

My DH had a smiliar sort of dream and was a bit peeved with me. Thankfully he's over it now :)

Ifancyanewname · 25/01/2012 13:32

I have dreams like this once every couple of months and the next day I am definitely off with DH. He thinks it is most unreasonable, I think its unreasonable of him to be off galavanting through my dreams with some floozy!

whitsunday · 25/01/2012 13:33

I woke him up to tell him about it! And then demanded cuddles while saying "but you were horrible!", and "you left us!"

Might have a bearing on why he's narked today hey Hmm

I didn't tell him who he cheated on me with though as he might tell her and that
would be weird.

I had very similar dreams to that. I dreamt my ex was alive again and I was really happy to see him but he had a new girlfriend with him. He stared at me like I was a real piece of work while she kept pulling on his jacket and saying 'leave her, you love me now, she's not worth it' absolutely broke my heart :(

Just get some cuddles and feel hugely relieved that it isn't real.

mummakaz · 25/01/2012 13:50

I've had that dream before and so has DH. I caught him in bed with my BF Hmm kicked them both out, ran out after them with the kids. He turned round and said he didn't want to be with me anymore and walked off holding her hand whilst the kids were sobbing whilst screaming 'daddy come back'. Could have killed him when I woke up lol

MackerelOfFact · 25/01/2012 13:51

DP did this to me the other day, apparently I'd been threatening to kill myself in the dream nightmare because he hadn't got me the present I'd wanted for my birthday. Hmm He was really off with me the next day and kept asking me if I was OK with my Christmas presents. (I was, and am - I couldn't care less if he bought me a Ferrari or just ran me a bath!)

soandsosmummy · 25/01/2012 13:52

I've had dreams like this too. Last year I smacked my poor dp hard across the face because my dream turned into a semi wakeful state in which I was convinced he was leaving me and dd, selling the house over our heads, leaving us on the streets and moving to Barbados with some bitch called Magenta he'd met on the internet.

Poor DP was NOT impressed at his rude and painful 4am awakening but at that particular moment in time it seemed quite reasonable to me

mrstiredandconfused · 25/01/2012 14:05

I once dreamt that dh had an affair with 4 women, including my sister and aunt, and each told me exactly what had gone on between them Sad. He then told me he didn't love me and that he and the cats were moving in with the next door neighbour (beautiful blonde lass who he had also been seeing).

Woke up in floods of tears and woke him up by shouting "how could you do this? I thought you loved me!" in my still sleepy state. Poor dh spent the day with his tail between his legs for no good reason and we had to avoid the neighbours for a while Blush

SuperDuperJezebel · 25/01/2012 14:20

My mum told me recently she didn't speak to my dad for a whole day after she dreamed they picked up a beautiful hitchhiker, and he made my mum sit in the back seat so beautiful hitchhiker could sit next to my dad!

MixedBerries · 25/01/2012 14:23

Ha ha. This happens to me too. My DP does it also. It's very hard not to feel a bit peeved as in dreams you do experience the emotions as if they were real. If it's not a long term grudge then YANBU! But do tell him why.

QuacksForDoughnuts · 25/01/2012 14:41

I can normally shrug off dreams about my OH cheating these days, but a while back I had a really vivid one where he died in a car crash. It was scary because normally my dreams are a bit surreal, but this one involved the building we work in, our favourite pub and our flat pretty much exactly as they are. This was in the morning when he'd got up to have first go on the computer and I'd slept in, so I had to get up and look for him to make sure it wasn't real...

PosieParker · 25/01/2012 14:44

#My husband dreamt I slept with his colleague, worst thing was that he saw his friend in his dream with an erectionShock. EEeeeeewwwwwwwwwww.

Listzilla · 25/01/2012 15:02

I'm so relieved it's not just me who does this : )

RJRabbit · 25/01/2012 15:05

I do this too! I wonder what it all means? [off to google "dream directory"]

RJRabbit · 25/01/2012 15:09

Hmm... it says that if you dream that your partner is unfaithful it may indicate that you're neglecting their emotional needs.

OrmIrian · 25/01/2012 15:13

I dreamed that I was stabbed to death in my kitchen, the house burned down and that DD died in a car crash. It was horrible. But I wasn't cross with anyone.

TurkeyBurgerThing · 25/01/2012 15:16

This happened to me once. The other woman was my BEST FRIEND! I woke up in a daze thinking it had happened and was screeeeaaaaaming at him to get the fuck out. Poor bloke was in some state of confusion and alarm until I managed to shake it off and return to the real world!

Then there was the other night when I wriggled on him because I was dreaming about Jason Oange. He didn't realise I was asleep but when I woke up moments later I gave him a gob full of abuse for groping me in my sleep...

He puts up with a lot!
