To Expect NOT To See Semi-Naked Women At A Business Exhibition......

DH and I own and run a business designing, manufacturing and selling motorcycle parts. We are also dealers for other companies. On Sunday we attended a Motorcycle Exhibition to see our suppliers and check out potential new products. This was a business to business only exhibition.

So why do some of these companies persist in the stereotype that you need to have scantily clad young women, wearing a ton of makeup and high heels to sell your products? These women are hired to give out leaflets and drape themselves over the products.

AIBU to think this is unacceptable in this enlightened age? Why would I, as a professional business woman wish to see this?

It really pisses me off.

I expect the women are just exercising their choices and are liberated by what they are doing Hmm

Having worked in the bike industry I know this is ingrained deep.
I can't see any trade show not being like this tbh.

Not that I think it's right. I'm not sure what the solution would be.

I don't think this age is particularly 'enlightened' either Sad If anything, we've gone backwards.

it's at all the trade shows i go to even though i work in the unsexiest industry known to man and there really is no link to scantily clad young women

my own company hires them and one year they wore backless dresses with the company logo painted on. classy Hmm
