Going to Pointe St Gilles in Brittany with 2yo DS2 and 6yo DS1. Swore we would never go away again before DS2 was at least 4 due to an awful villa holiday in Mallorca when DS1 was 2. Anyway have booked as DS1 was dying to have a holiday, so despite the fact it will rain etc, am really really looking forward to it.

Sounds great. But what on earth happened in the villa holiday thta made you swear off holidays for 4 years?!

RainboweBrite · 22/01/2012 23:22

Snap! I'm very excited as we've just booked our first proper holiday abroad!!! Crete!!! Very Very excited... kids just like the idea of a pool and plane ride!!

GoingForGoalWeight · 22/01/2012 23:42

Same here! First holiday on a plane for me since 1988. I've spent three years saving and booked our first holiday abroad to Majorca in October school holiday. I'm going to lose a ton of weight for it.

YIPEEEEEEEEEE :)

took my first flight in 15 years Dec 2011 with 3 kids eldest 13 who had never flown. due to work (self employed) it was our first hols away as a family. there were niggles with things but don't let anything spoil it. when we came back a friend said "only another 5 years and family hols will be a thing of the past so make the most of it" i cried - how feeble - so have fun!

I worked there as a Eurocamp Kids' Courier when I was 19!!

Sans Souci restaurant on the sea front is amazing and literally translates to "no worries". It might not still be there...
