Divorce your Dh and have nothing more to do with her.

HTH.

(moves DM website from favourites)

ramblingmum · 22/01/2012 13:17

So is mine DM reader and nice. Just be sceptical of any health advice she give you.

annalovesmrbates · 22/01/2012 13:21

Ashamed to whisper quietly "so is my mum".
Runs away in shame.

Thankgodforcaffeine · 22/01/2012 13:22

Mine is too but she is lovely.

I agree with rambling though, any advice from her is to be treated with a smile and a nod

WorraLiberty · 22/01/2012 13:22

Leave the bitch!

Kayano · 22/01/2012 13:23

My lot read the sun if they read at all Grin my parents that is Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 22/01/2012 13:24

My MIL buys it.

I read it online just to slag it off.

There is no political difference between her and I either Hmm Grin

annalovesmrbates · 22/01/2012 13:25

Hmm yes, PIL are Sun readers too.

annalovesmrbates · 22/01/2012 13:25

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 22/01/2012 13:26

My stepmother buys it and, in her own words, 'believes everything in it'.

We are very different...

QueenPodling · 22/01/2012 13:29

One of my colleagues buys it because 'it's the only paper that takes a moral stand.' Hmm. I avoid getting into any non work discussions with him.

CrunchyFrog · 22/01/2012 13:30

My mother, grandmother, 2 out of 3 brothers and sister read it.

XPIL take the Mail AND the Express.

Little old Independent reading me's a little left out.

ILoveGreggsSausageRolls · 22/01/2012 13:32

Grin @ Worra

Her advice is usually ok, and she only gives if I ask Confused

My (D)M and DMIL both read it. The difference is that (D)M thinks it's gospel and quotes it as fact. I think she just does it to annoy me though and to make me say 'did you read that in the DM?'

BelleDameSansMerci · 22/01/2012 13:39

My best friend reads it Shock

She's lovely in all other ways so I let this go.

TheParanoidAndroid · 22/01/2012 13:41

Just because some DM readers are nasty bigots, doesn't mean all are. I sometimes read the guardian, I'm not a lentil weaving youghurt knitter.

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 22/01/2012 13:43

True, Paranoid. I read both DM and the Guardian. I have never yet woven a lentil nor uttered the phrase 'PC gorn mad'. :)

PeneloPeePitstop · 22/01/2012 13:58

Next time she's reading it, set fire to it.
Then ask her if she'd seen the article they had stating that reading newspapers was bad for you.

marriedinwhite · 22/01/2012 13:58

My mother reads it and although a bit dappy generally says and does sensible things. My MIL the former deputy head reads the Guardian and spouts utter rubbish.

squeakytoy · 22/01/2012 14:04

Reading, and agreeing with it are two entirely different things!

I read the Daily Mail, purely to laugh at all the ridiculous articles.

Regardless of how silly some of their articles are, it is the easiest to navigate newspaper on line, and the readers comments are always fun to read too.

Not all the articles are incorrect, not all the articles are bigotted. Boycotting a newspaper and looking down on others because they read it does not make anyone a better person. Wink

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 22/01/2012 14:12

My Mum reads it and has stood as a Labour councillor. She finds broadsheets too messy. My SDad (also lifelong Labour supporter who has also stood as a councillor) reads the Torygraph on Saturdays. They have managed not to turn into odd ranting rightwing bigots Smile Personally I'd rather not put money in their coffers or add to their figures but it's not that important.

Ihatecbeebies · 22/01/2012 14:13

I just found out last night that dp's lovely cousin WORKS for the daily mail...but she's nice...I am so shocked Sad

Gonzo33 · 22/01/2012 14:19

My Mum and MIL read the DM. I do sometimes online too but to be fair it is all rubbish anyway.

The media revolves around so called celebrities too much these days. Really interesting

Molehillmountain · 22/01/2012 14:33

Mil claims she buys it and the express for the puzzles Hmm
