Just wondered if I'm alone in doing this, or if it's weird? Grin

Well it seems perfectly reasonable, if a little dainty.

In my case it'd be like trying to mop up the Red Sea with 'Juan Sheet'

Heatherhills · 22/01/2012 12:15

Been there done that

Thankgodforcaffeine · 22/01/2012 12:17

Done it too.

kiki22 · 22/01/2012 12:18

What else are you ment to do just leave it to flow

SecretNutellaFix · 22/01/2012 12:18

Done it myself, but changed as soon as possible for correct item.

Anniegetyourgun · 22/01/2012 12:19

Needs must. It's not very effective but it's better than nothing.

crazynanna · 22/01/2012 12:20

Done it...and being in the menopause and losing half my blood supply from minute one of the period,I have been known to wrap the toilet roll around a folded clean odd sock in order to walk to the shop to buy some pads.

Kirsty's homemade programmes are of use sometimes Wink

Ilovedaintynuts · 22/01/2012 12:23

Just be careful it doesn't 'slip' and end up falling out your trouser leg in front of all your work colleagues.
This happen to......a friend Blush

edam · 22/01/2012 12:23

Is this an appropriate place to say 'thank you for sharing'?

I suppose needs must and all that...

Red2011 · 22/01/2012 12:24

Done it too...in the short-term it's better than wet legs!

chocolateyclur · 22/01/2012 12:24

Been there, done that, worried about it falling out. Grin

TidyDancer · 22/01/2012 12:25

We've all been there, needs must and all that. I rarely go anywhere without something in my bag though.

SilentBoob · 22/01/2012 12:25

Of course everyone's done this. What else are you supposed to do?

Ilovedaintynuts · 22/01/2012 12:27

Umm apparently my 'friend' denied it was hers and everyone walked over the blood-soaked toilet paper for ages until someone got some gloves and took it to the toilet.

JuliaScurr · 22/01/2012 12:28

crazy A SOCK? A SOCK??? this is genius. up to now we only everhad puppets. Loving your work.
(Kirsty Allsop? Honestly?)

crazynanna · 22/01/2012 12:31

Maybe I should send in the idea to Kirsty? Would actually be something useful she could make with her fat fingers fair hands Wink

JuliaScurr · 22/01/2012 12:32

crazy don't tell Osborne, he'll make it compulsory, possibly for a whole street to share a pair of tights < big society>

TheSpreadingChestnutTree · 22/01/2012 12:33

If I have to do this, I wind the toilet paper round my gusset a few times, which prevents it falling out Wink

crazynanna · 22/01/2012 12:34

Grin I could supply my whole street with my tights

JuliaScurr · 22/01/2012 12:36

yy spreading I did this before any of this newfangled wings business
Should have marketed the concept

notso · 22/01/2012 12:54

I fashioned sanitary towels out of cotton wool and toilet roll and sellotape when I started my period while staying at my Grandma's and was too embarrassed to say so.

ahhhhhpushit · 22/01/2012 12:56

Yes I did that once.

It feel out in my living room in front of my dad.

I was 15.

I was mortified.

c0rnsilllk · 22/01/2012 12:56

I've done that as well. You need to wear black knickers though.

TheSpreadingChestnutTree · 22/01/2012 13:05

Wind, ladies, wind!

KatAndKit · 22/01/2012 14:18

In desperation you can use bog roll in place of a tampon.
