To think that quoting past threads/quiches on MN does not prove you aren't a troll?

You know when someone says 'name changed but not a troll - missing toaster, poo troll etc'. It doesn't really prove anything, does it? Any lurkers could read all that and still be a troll of some sort, no?

Am bored, can you tell? Grin

[dips toe cautiously into possibly pirhanna infested water]

I read the comment about made-up country houses and phds as a reference to a banned poster who regularly boasted about her wealth, and completely unconnected to a joke about Pag and Spiderslegs.

I am very confused now.

WinterIsComing · 18/01/2012 14:28

What a gracious apology and acceptance. That's better Smile

I started a thread in Chat in the summer which was taking the piss out of DD's scant homework instructions to, "find out about the death of Harold" (the 1066 Bayeux tapestry arrow in the eye one) but all I could think of was Harold Bishop lost at sea and Ah-da-da-da-d' Madge finding his shattered spectacles on a rock Sad

It ended up being quite funny with someone saying that she thought he went into the water on a trip to Ireland and then someone else saying that since he washed up in Tasmania the thought of poor Harold bobbing around in the many oceans for months sans spectacles was quite unrealistic.

I would have made up phd but I think you have to stay within the bounds of credibility.

Yy. I live in the shed in mils garden. I would shed swap as long as you promise to clear up the dog crap.

FellatioNelsonsDog · 18/01/2012 14:31

I agree Pag. That's why I don't pretend to have A levels.

AbsofCroissant · 18/01/2012 14:32

Ah yes, the PHD was the person I rightfully suspected to be Colonel Ghaddafi. Or his daughter. But probably him.

W0rmy · 18/01/2012 14:33

Ok Pag, you're on - dog crap and all.

I should probably tell you about the small albatross seagull problem we have and their giant occasional droppings.

I think BoF should. She spends a lot of time here.

Psammead · 18/01/2012 14:38

I tried to include Roly, but no-one was having it. And Roly is a good, homegrown Buuuuuritish dog dontchaknow. It's all very well, these cute imports, but Roly was hard for a poodle.

bluegnueboo · 18/01/2012 14:39

Artex, for God's sake. Dag had no talent, he was a ham of a dog compared to the almighty Bouncer... Lidle ham, not even Waitrose...
For fuck sake, some peopleHmm

W0rmy · 18/01/2012 14:39

Has anyone mentioned Well-Ard? or am I just going over old hound?

Pagwatch · 18/01/2012 14:40

Oh no. Flying things shitting on me does not sound like a holiday.
I retract my house swap agreement.

I have A levels fell. But I forgot everything I ever learnt, except Tess of the D'Urbervilles which hasn't been much use to be honest.

I have never watched neighbours so I am not much use at all really. [useless]

Psammead · 18/01/2012 14:40
bluegnueboo · 18/01/2012 14:41

Roly, now Roly had class. He had a pedigree and all you know.

TheBigJessie · 18/01/2012 14:42

These threads always make me feel inadequate. There's so much blatant hinting, that I don't understand; thus the inadequacy.

Similar effect to Araucaria's crossword compilations, actually. Those make me feel doleful too.

The one time I did manage to interpret a (different) thread, it was pretty illuminating (about that original poster's personality), so I worry about what vital information I'm missing out on. Did I mention that now I feel doleful? i did? Well, it's true. And doleful is a lovely word.

[whinge continues for several more exceedingly repetitive pages, but was cut short by MN to preserve bandwidth]

Psammead · 18/01/2012 14:42

Yes, Roly was great. And he had the same haircut as his mistress.
