I saw the first EVER episode of Neighbours when I was off sick from school. Scott wasn't Jason Donovan - he was some other actor, and it was all about him and his girlfriend being taped at an assignation and the tape edited to sound dodgy.

I also remember a "Smash Hits" article talking about how the original Scott had been replaced by, "an utter creep called Jason Donovan" which was my initiation into the utter capriciousness and fickle world of the media since SH couldn't get enough of Jason and Kylie in the years to come.

By way of explanation, I probably vastly over-reacted, but I read your comment about Pag and Spiderslegs as your implying that they are among a group of posters who go out of their way to make people feel inferior because they have a few quid. I get a bit tired of it being ok to really be vicious about certain people, or certain types of people on MN just because they are seen as fair game due to being wealthy or privately educated or a Tory voter or all/any of those things, and TSC, you must admit that is one of your specialist topics.

By further way of explanation, I would ordinarily have taken it as the joke it was, or just an unfortunately worded post, but sadly, in light of some things I keep reading on here lately, I am perhaps seeing spitefulness and jealousy where perhaps there is none intended?

Not just you specifically TSC but it is a common theme on MN unfortunately. People are often accused of 'stealth boasting' when they are doing no such thing - just being honest about their lives in the same way that non-affluent people are allowed to be. Anyway, that's a discussion for another day.
