There is jack all on tv, its fecking cold, dh is not coming home and I can't find the hotwater bottle. So can I remove the dc's from their beds and use them? The cat won't sit on the bed if a human is there and the dog farts so it would have to be a dc I think.

Go for it.

MogTheForgetfulCat · 16/01/2012 21:52

YANBU - my DC are all lovely toasty little things, perfect for putting cold feet on. They probably won't even notice Grin

Wolfiefan · 16/01/2012 21:54

Get electric blanket or...
Use dog fart and cat warmth to defreeze the bed then enter....
Turn heating on, pjs on radiator, dress quick and get in?
Hot choc or drink wine! Ooo brandy could help!

Gapants · 16/01/2012 21:54

Oh yes, nothing nicer than a warm child to toast your toes on. How old are your children? I find a slightly pudgey toddler to not only we warm and soft, but easy to manoeuvre without waking.

YANBU Go for it... Grin

Gapants · 16/01/2012 21:55

Oh god have just read that back, and the last bit sounded weird Blush

Sorry!

mamalovesmojitos · 16/01/2012 21:56

Grin Gapants that made perfect sense to me!

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 21:59

And me! Yes 4 and 18 mo, the 18mo will probably end up with me anyway Hmm but the dog farts and they smell and they sound like human farts. I don't want it as I don't have dh in the room so would like a bit of a break from that Grin. Cat would be an option but I think he is in hunting mode, have just found a wet and dead mouse by my shoe. Lovely.

Told dh the other day I wanted an electric blanket and he looked at me like was slightly bonkers Smile

Squidgy toddler looking particularly pleasant right now!

my kids are wrigglers and also if they wake i will be up all night.

hairdryer is lovely for warming feet lol

StellaAndFries · 16/01/2012 22:01

Nooooooooo! Getting into a cold bed is lovely, you get to do the warm up wiggle and jiggle until you get warm...

Now that does look really bad reading that back Blush

Flibble80 · 16/01/2012 22:01

They aren't toys. Let them sleep.

thatboysmum · 16/01/2012 22:02

I think I would get them out of bed, put them in my bed and let them warm it up for a bit, then put them back in their own beds when I go up Grin
I hate sleeping with DS, he kicks, he squashes, he brings about 4 different toys with him if he gets in in the middle of the night and he sleeps on your head!

wearymum200 · 16/01/2012 22:02

Woolly socks and succumb to middle age: electric blanket all the way. Unlike the dc ,it doesn' t talk, wriggle or wake at 5....

Gapants · 16/01/2012 22:03

My DH works away a lot and I went through a phase of co-sleeping with my toddler, it was LUSH. Just the smell of my sleeping children soothes me.

They're not? Shock

TheCrunchUnderfoot · 16/01/2012 22:05

Heh heh I'm already abed with mine: warm, soft, manoeuvrable and two.

FunnysInTheGarden · 16/01/2012 22:05

'aren't toys'. Are you quite sure about that? I have always viewed my DC as being there for my amusement only.

FunnysInTheGarden · 16/01/2012 22:05

snap Annie Grin

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 22:05

problem with ds co-sleeping is that the likes to get up in the night and go for a wander to see all the things he isn't allowed to during he day. And he likes to open and shut doors, alot.

Its going to be me on my own with a cup of tea isn't it. I don't think dh is going to like me buying an electric blanket after my heated airing tower.

The things that excite me, I am now turning into my mother.

Jury still out on removing a small child from its bed!

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 22:06

I can appreciate them not being my toys but can someone tell dd that ds is not her toy? Please? I found her dressing him up earlier and then carrying him around like a doll Hmm

mrspepperpotty · 16/01/2012 22:07

Have a lovely hot bath instead. I'm about to have one :)

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 22:08

Am heading in that direction mrspepperpotty and then a small child in a bed?

OP posts:
trulyscrumptious43 · 16/01/2012 22:10

I am sure that I had children for my own amusement.
And then discovered their fantastic bed warming properties, what a winner!

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 22:11

I have discovered that dd is very good at making trifle - she has no control on the stop with the sherry. It amuses me Grin
