There is jack all on tv, its fecking cold, dh is not coming home and I can't find the hotwater bottle. So can I remove the dc's from their beds and use them? The cat won't sit on the bed if a human is there and the dog farts so it would have to be a dc I think.

Airere doesn't arrive until tomorrow Sad so that isn't an option for tonight.

I am torn though - warm squishy, slightly smelling of wee toddler sitting on my head/biting/bodyslamming/escaping down the corridor but likely to end up in my bed anyway VS the bed to myself, which never happens.

Decisions,decisions

I just put the 3 year old in its own bed. He's warmed mine nicely, and left me an interesting assortment of cars/ sonic screwdrivers/ alarm clocks etc to discover during the night!. Good lad :)

I'm snuggled up with a lovely little hot water bottle, she's 11 months Grin. It's lovely for an hour or so, then no matter how many times I manoeuvre her back, she still constantly kicks me in the neck throughout the night!

Put some socks on and wait until the squidgy little people demand to share the bed. Enjoy having it to yourself for a bit Grin.

(D)H has just told me I cannot move pfb to prewarm my bed....mean.

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 22:58

That is what my dh would say too. BUT HE IS NOT HERE so therefore I am in charge

I thought that is what small children are for Confused

Dilligaf81 · 16/01/2012 23:02

Asda have electric blankets on offer (£18 for Kingsize).
My DH got me one for Xmas - I hate it, I love getting into a cold bed and doing the bed warming shuffle.
My DH used to use a hairdryer to warm his side of the bed but as he boought the electric blanket for him me he doesnt need to.

Wouldnt use any of me DD's far to farty and wriggly my DS is lovely in bed all cuddly and doesnt kick but he wants to go back to his own bed Sad

Bandomothers
God that makes me realise...baby sleeping bags are actually just fancy hot water bottle covers! Brilliant! And toddlers are safer than hot water bottles. They only leak now and then and it's never boiling!

Grin

And yes, they should all have off buttons, Chipping. A design fault there.

Nothing like a squishy warm toddler or small child to warm you up. On the other hand, they do sometimes wriggle (another design fault). But I would still choose a squishy, warm, child as a bedwarmer any day.

Well, it was suprisingly warm in my bedroom Hmm bearing in mind the rest of the house is freezing! Dh must have fiddled with the thermostat thingymajig that is upstairs (we are very lucky with 2, 1 for down and 1 for up which I thought was weird when we re did the heating but seems to work Wink) but not the downstairs one which seems to be set to minus 4 but I shouldn't have let the fire go out by being on mn. Did end up with a wriggly small person but at 6.30 instead of 11!

we came home from a night out once and found our next door neighbour who was babysitting asleep in bed with ds. i had warned her not to be enticed due to how snuggly he is. she was very embarrassed Grin

BandOMothers · 17/01/2012 11:01

God I hope you know her well daen! Well I suppose you do...or you wouldn't have her look afte your son! But that's a bit....odd imo. A bit too personal. Nobody apart from family can do that surely?

daenerysstormborn · 17/01/2012 11:57

nah, know her really well and the dc's love her to bits, her kids are exactly the same age and are all at school together. she works at the school to, so i know she's been crb checked Grin

daenerysstormborn · 17/01/2012 11:57

too Blush

Figgyrolls · 17/01/2012 12:05

Anyone can have my pointy 10.8 DD. She has a temperature at the moment and is like an oven.
I much prefer to get into a cold bed. DH would love an electric blanket but I've pointed out there isn't an electric plug point on his side of the bed.
