Mother bought shitty BarbieMother dancing princess DVD for 5.5yr old Dd. Dd hates me so much she has made me watch it TWICE in one day. Feel like killing self cos it is so execrable. Aibu??

YANBU. I hate Barbie, and my feelings must show because DD (5) often quotes " Mummy isn't keen on Barbie because she looks like an alien".

Try rocko's modern life or cow & chicken. I used to love watching those, in fact spongebob is pretty funny too. Now I don't have any excuses to watch kids cartoons

The barbie films aren'tthat bad. They're just fairy stories, I find them almost old fashioned and twee.
DD doesn't like them though, she prefers Horrid Henry. Not sure which is worst TBH.

You haven't been blessed with Barbie's Mermaid Tale - be thankful. It's beyond belief.

I don't mind the fairy tale ones - Nutcracker, Swan Lake, etc. because Barbie/female characters are usually the ones doing any rescuing/heroic deeds. Hate the animation though.

We sadly have all the barbie films up until about 5 years ago when thankfully my girls grew out of them. now they occasionally watch them to reminisce or if off home from school sick. my sil gave them to our girls when hers had grown out of them - her phrase "barbies are like heroine you always get the first one for free" now i have to put up with pre-pubescent boys in one direction and Justin Beiber. how i long for Barbie as repunzel!
