Nothing quite like that first baby! The sheer thrill of the positive test and not having toddlers crawling over your bump.... being able to veg out at weekends and then the excitement of having an actual baby...! I do understand so YADNBU.

ClaraSage · 15/01/2012 18:56

Aw....but not jealous, relieved it's all behind me. The biggest learning curve of my life.

rubyslippers · 15/01/2012 18:59

New borns for me = sleepless nights!

Now, a chubbly, gorgeous, mop haired toddlers are a different story

But I have to admit that new born baby smell is totally yummy

luvviemum · 15/01/2012 20:01

Newborns are adorable and I thank god for my two dc who are now 5 and 2.

However, I can say hand on heart that there would be snow in hell before I'd do it again!! The sleepless nights, the exhaustion, the stress, the jogging pants - I'm loving the fact that life is getting a little easier now they're older. Any more would finish me off!

I do love visiting my pals with their newborns though and giving them a cuddle - I'm just more than happy to hand them back!

CamberwickGreen · 15/01/2012 20:03

babies = way tooooo much stres, work and responsibility

RachelHRD · 15/01/2012 20:10

I empathise - I'd love another and my neighbour is pregnant with her first and is blooming and I am soooooo Envy!!!!!!!

Molehillmountain · 15/01/2012 20:16

I am Envy of the idealism and perfectionism of first time parenting. I am a mess of guilt for the muck ups I've made and loved the beginning where they hadn't stacked up as much.

butterflyexperience · 15/01/2012 21:23

See that's the thing now my 2 are older life is sooo much easier, but god I miss the romance of pfb.

Really makes me Sad and Envy

Dd is 12 weeks old
Yanbu.

JugsMcGee · 15/01/2012 22:29

I have rose tinted glasses on about what life with a newborn is like! In my mind it was all cuddles, feeding and gazing at him asleep in his basket/having him sleep on my chest. In reality it was bleeding nipples, wasting too much time trying to settle him in the basket at night after a feed and a LOT of crying (me, not so much him!)

YANBU and YABU. If that makes sense.

worzelswife · 15/01/2012 22:32

Also desperately broody. A friend gave birth two weeks ago and the photos on facebook are making me sob.

McHappyPants2012 · 15/01/2012 22:34
