with the dummy tonight? DD (4.5 months) is so reliant on it, it has got steadily worse and last night I was in and out of her room as she cried every time she 'woke' up and it had fallen out. I've tried leaving her to see if she will settle withoutit but she cries more and more until she is fully awake. I am so tired and wondering if it would be prudent to just knock it on the head now as I know I'm going to be up a lot tonight anyway. I hate to hear her cry and dont really want to cause her any distress but I need to get some sleep! Sad
We have been doing PU/PD recently and she has taken to it really well but the dummy is still looming large...

yanbu but 4.5 months is still so teeny tiny, and dummies can be a great comfort to little ones. It is a pain when it falls out all of the time but there again I have DS2 in our room with us next to the bed so its easy for me to just lean over to piut his back in

Better to do it now than when she's old enough to argue with you and you have to do the 'dummy fairy' thing. Wink

Oh i just don't know! I think I'm going to wait a bit as she is so small, and maybe its better to start with the daytime naps so she has a day of getting used to it first IYSWIM?

We went through that phase at about the same age, and I thought we'd made a huge mistake letting DD have dummy in the 1st place (she only has it at night or other sleep times in the cot). She soon learnt to find it and put it back in herself, so it's much less of a problem now (DD 14 months). I would like to get rid of it soon, but she is so attached to it I have no idea how - thinking it's probably best until she's old enough to reason with / explain it is going than just taking it away.
