How about a fish supper for tea tonight? Grin

I lived in London for 6 years and the looks I got trying to order a fish and a sausage supper!!! They looked at me like I had two heads!! I quickly learnt to call it fish and chips Grin

Re: the phonics year at the end of primary 1. Is this the same as the UK?
If so, my son is going to struggle with those pseudo words eg poosh, isk, uct, prool, tesh, chack.
He know the sounds that go with all the words and can decipher some simple words, but doesn’t seem to have covered blended sounds eg ch, st, pr etc yet
Any advice. I’m looking the Kipper, Chip & Biff ‘My Phonics Kit’ and that looks a level above what my guy’s doing unless they’ve got done cramming planned for the last few months. At his last parent teacher meeting, he got a good report

Any insights?

Folicky you'll probably be best starting a new thread for your query. FWIW- my kids didn't start those blended sounds until P2 and really rammed them in P3. P1 and indeed P2 isvery much learning through play, at least in my kids primary. At this point in the school year a number of the kids are still aged 4. My youngest is in P4 now and certainly it took the beginning of P3 for her to get to grips with some sounds. She's racing through it now.
My next is in P7 and she's just started buddying up with P1s to read very simple books more to get them used to the rhythm of reading etc. If you start a new thread I'm sure you'll get advice.

Hi ladies
Can I ask if anyone has used the ulster independent clinic for gynaecology? If so, would you recommend?
Thanks in advance
