Theeverexpandingrodders · 13/01/2012 07:52

Morning I'm from county down :)

frumpet · 13/01/2012 10:07

Whilst youre all here , can any of you suggest anywhere nice to stay in NI close to beaches ? Thinking north coast .

chipmonkey · 13/01/2012 10:19

Don't know about NI but the best beach in the world (IMHO) is Knockalla Beach in County Donegal which is in the North of Ireland but not in Northern Ireland. Portsalon beach which is a short distance away is also lovely.

Hi! I live in the town with the big shopping centre, hey!

Hi to Tee & TLC! We were on pre- Christmas, childless bash in 2010. Great wee night!

Tee, give me a shout if you want a hand to organise another night out.

frumpet · 13/01/2012 13:18

Thanks for that chipmonkey .

cocolepew · 13/01/2012 13:23

Hi! I'm in Ards Smile

NeedlesCuties · 13/01/2012 14:00

Bishoplyn hello to you :) I remember you from the Christmas night out and cannot believe that was over a year ago Shock

frumpet I don't know names of B & B's but I know there are some in small Co. Antrim seaside towns called called Cushendun or Cushendall. Also the Ballygally Hotel which is nearby and close to Ferry terminals and main roads

chipmonkey · 13/01/2012 14:53

Bishop there has to be only one town with a big shopping centre!Grin That ad is ingrained on my brain. Never actually been there, mind you!

whojamaflip · 13/01/2012 15:54

Bishop you have just made me soooo homesick Smile. Moved across the water nearly 20 years ago Shock and I STILL get people saying that to me when I say where I'm fromHmm

Birdiegirl · 13/01/2012 20:01

Hi all,

I'm originally from ROI but now living near Magherafelt in Derry/Londonderry.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

Can anyone here recommend a good shop to get nice 'dressy' maternity clothes. We have a family wedding in April and I would love a really nice dress.

Any help much appreciated. Will travel anywhere in NI for the perfect dress!

TIA.

ChablisLover · 13/01/2012 20:12

Can I say hello too? I'm from county Antrim too born and bred and still there. Near the town with the big shopping centre. Grin

ChablisLover · 13/01/2012 20:14

Frumpet what about portrush? Get in before prices go up for the open. The royal court is nice , new hotel Atlantis and of course the ramore wine bar is a must for the desserts alone!

makinglemonade · 13/01/2012 20:16

Another NIer here although I'm not a mum yet (still a person though :D)

Originally from Donegal but living in Tyrone now :)

Welcome!

AThingInYourLife · 13/01/2012 20:21

I'm in Co Down, originally from down south.

15 weeks pg with my 3rd.

Nice to meet you all :)

inspireme · 13/01/2012 20:22

Hi another norn iron lady here, I'm in Tyrone, good to see so many of you starting to think I was the only for a while!

dingdong3 · 13/01/2012 20:23

Hey girls...another Southern Ireland gal here, lured up here by a nordy man. Met Bishop and Needles at the meet up in Connswater ages ago. I will never forget going up to Bishop and asking her if she was her MN nickname - NOT Bishoplyn of course...at the time she had name changed to something very inappropriate!! Can't remember...do you Bishop? Grin

inspireme · 13/01/2012 20:28

Birdiegirl I found nothing round about for dressy maternity wear, if your not that big I would just try your usual shops and go up a size or two.

Tiger lily has a good sale at the mo, plenty of stretchy type dresses, that are dressy enough iykwim.

ChablisLover · 13/01/2012 20:36

Birdiegirl - when I was pregnant got a lovely dress in Topshop maternity. Try there.

mishtake · 13/01/2012 20:40

God I bloody love Norn - very jealous of you all.
That is all. As you were. Grin

WinterGoddess · 13/01/2012 20:50

Birdiegirl, went to school in Magherafelt! Try online - Boden and Isabella Oliver both do Maternity.

inspireme · 13/01/2012 21:05

So did I wintergoddess small world!!

Birdiegirl · 13/01/2012 21:12

Thanks for all the replies. I'll definitely follow up on your recommendations. I was in Belfast today and got a nice dress in Top Shop so I'll have to go back there again.

Thanks again.

Brianstorm · 13/01/2012 21:15

I love Norm Iron too - and put something on the NI board ages ago but thought maybe you had all left! Will go and see if there's been any movement on it... I'm just outside Belfast, have 2 little girls and always wanted to see what other MNers look like Grin
