I have sat on the info for ages and didn't do anything except get angrier and angrier.

For christmas son's friend got a pony, bmx bike, x box, ipod and family ski trip.

My son got a second hand lego set as that is all we could afford this year.

Son's friend gets free school meals and all school trips paid for.

We can't afford school dinners and scrimp and save for son to go on school trips.

Son's friend's dad lives with them and works but I know she claims benefits as a single mum.

She earns £25 an hour cash in hand at a racing stables.

She gets everything paid for, including housing benefit etc.

We can't afford ponies nor lessons yet she has 2 competition horses.

I never thought I 'd do this as she's a nice person but I've had enough.

OP posts:

This is unfair!

MrsDeVere got deleted for hinting that the OP is a troll and I didn't get deleted for hinting that she is David Cameron!

Now seriously, MNHQ, what are you playing at? Surely mine was the more slanderous suggestion?

I demand justice! Grin

MistyMountainHop · 10/01/2012 21:32

well I got deleted too and i didn't even suggest either of those things! Confused

i am sure i speak for all the other deleted posters when i say - Oi Mumsnet - I DEMAND an explanation :)

TotemPole · 10/01/2012 21:35

I questioned the truth of the OP and mine's still there.

I'm either special or ignored.

Triggles · 10/01/2012 22:12

I questioned the deletions and was told that the posts that are still there were not reported. They deleted any that were reported that hinted that the OP was a troll.

I didn't say she was a troll. Didn't even hint it. I said "if it is real" during part of my post... and ZAP! gone within 10 minutes!! Shock

Triggles · 10/01/2012 22:14

it was more of a "if the information is real or truthful..." as the OP really didn't have any solid info, just fb posts of a child.

Triggles · 10/01/2012 22:14

ah, well... OP hasn't been back in a while anyway. Perhaps she should steer clear of AIBU if she doesn't understand how it works. Hmm

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 10/01/2012 22:15

I didnt say she was a troll!
I only hinted (heavily) that the £25 per hour wasnt true.
Because people dont get paid £25 an hour for working in a stables. FACT.
Unless they are vets or horse homeopaths employed by Liz Jones.

Bloody cheek reporting me for that!
Hmmph.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 10/01/2012 22:16

Thank you for your support cory

It is much appreciated

GoingForGoalWeight · 10/01/2012 22:18

GOOD Thanks

I'm on benefits as my DS is severe SN.

I DO NOT own a plasma T.V either.

cory · 10/01/2012 22:20

They just love you more than me MrsDeVere!

I made it quite clear that I think the OP is David Cameron and my post is still standing.

cory · 10/01/2012 22:21

It's not fayyyyyeeeerrr Envy

GoingForGoalWeight · 10/01/2012 22:21

If OP is wrong the family won't be in any trouble.

VeryLittleGravitas · 10/01/2012 22:35

"If OP is wrong the family won't be in any trouble."

...other then having all of their benefits suspended, potentially losing their home and possessions, the children being taken into care, their physical and mental health being damaged....no trouble at all.

VeryLittleGravitas · 10/01/2012 22:36

Oh, and if your benefits are frozen during an investigation, they will not be back-dated once reinstated.

GoingForGoalWeight · 10/01/2012 22:51

I wasn't in trouble.

I received a letter from the DWP stating there had been cause for myself to be interviewed about my entitlement to benefits. Benefits were stopped for a very short time. Two men interviewed me at the jobcentre as routine and i had to answer some questions and sign a piece of paper. It was psychologically damaging.

was your experience different Verylittlegravitas?

I was told an anonymous caller had made allegations, I know it was my (as I've previously mentioned on the recent DLA thread) jealous neighbour of our motability car.

Then came the anonymous call to social services, all this after being a parent with a clean record and good reputation for seven years.

Some people may feel they have good grounds to report - i haven't reported anyone for anything of that nature myself.

GoingForGoalWeight · 10/01/2012 22:57

There have been no further malicious reports about me but I still become a bit nervous if my door is knocked in a certain way :)

Social services gave me a hard time simply because two weeks previous a woman had starved her child to death.

:(

GoingForGoalWeight · 10/01/2012 23:00

I also know nothing about horses and level of pay so i believed the OP of the hourly rate.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 10/01/2012 23:12

Never seen a thread on MN with so many deletions.

Wow.

Benefit fraud = £1.2 billion
Tax avoidance = £25 billion
Having all the facts = Priceless

forehead · 10/01/2012 23:16

YANBU, for 'grassing up ' a benefit cheat. However, your actions seems to be motivated by jealousy . You also have insufficient evidence as far as i am concerned . Jealousy is a nasty trait and it appears to be inherent in the British culture.

janelikesjam · 10/01/2012 23:17

GoalForWeight, I am really sorry you had to go through that, really upsetting.

HeartsTrumpsDiamonds. Absolutely, probably some people have had to get through 16 pages to get to that ....

thebestisyettocome · 10/01/2012 23:27

"Jealousy is a nasty trait and it appears to be inherent in the British culture."

Another nasty trait which appears to be inherent in the British culture is a greedy sense of entitlement.

Xenia · 11/01/2012 06:32

Tax avoidance is no different from people claiming the benefits to which they are entitled. Tax evasion is benefit cheating and is illegal. It might suit the agenda of the left or parties who wish to garner support to conflate the two but they are wrong. If a married couple each decide they will work part time so they get two personal allowances that is sensibel tax planning and tax avoidance. If you pay into a pension and get tax relief that is tax avoidance. It is a vital principle under our law that you can structure your affairs under the law to minimise your tax . We must never lose sight of it.

seeker · 11/01/2012 07:23

£15 billion is lost to the economy through tax evasion- which is not legal and which equates exactly to benefit fraud.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 11/01/2012 08:04

Could you get off my head now Cory Ive got to go to work now.

Dont worry OP, DWP knows and I dont earn £25 per hour Smile

Serenitysutton · 11/01/2012 08:16

Hearts trump diamonds (and others) I can only deduce you don't know what tax evasion is, but just think its the stock answer smart response to any benefit fraud thread. It's not; it makes no sense as an argument. I wish people would just stop churning it out over and over; a good 7 times on this thread alone
