I have sat on the info for ages and didn't do anything except get angrier and angrier.

For christmas son's friend got a pony, bmx bike, x box, ipod and family ski trip.

My son got a second hand lego set as that is all we could afford this year.

Son's friend gets free school meals and all school trips paid for.

We can't afford school dinners and scrimp and save for son to go on school trips.

Son's friend's dad lives with them and works but I know she claims benefits as a single mum.

She earns £25 an hour cash in hand at a racing stables.

She gets everything paid for, including housing benefit etc.

We can't afford ponies nor lessons yet she has 2 competition horses.

I never thought I 'd do this as she's a nice person but I've had enough.

When I was on benefits a few years ago I lived in a big detached house, went to Antigua for some winter sun and my son got a wii, a trip to Euro Disney and loads of toys for Christmas. But, I was completely skint at the time and didn't claim a penny more than I was entitled to. I was house sitting for friends who accepted the £600 housing benefit I was entitled to so at least some of their mortgage was covered
but they could still sell their house. my Dad who I hadn't seen for 2 years (he lives in Australia) paid for us to visit him as he was working Antigua and ex's family and ex spoilt DS rotten (without paying any maintenance though obviously Wink)

Even if she is wrongly deprived of benefits in consequences she might... wait for it... actually get a job like the rest of us and that might do her a lot of good.

Lives can be improved not ruined if benefits are removed. There is too much dependence on benefits.

Notthefullshilling · 10/01/2012 13:23

Xenia did you write that in a hurry, were you distracted perhaps. I ask as I think I would find it very hard indeed to come up with a more nonsensical statement if I tried very very hard.

You say that despite being thrown off benefits that she is found to be claiming legitimatly, she will find a job that suits her, pays enough, and fits with her childcare responsabilities. She will then go on to live a happy life and be much the better for the experience. Please go and have a word with yourself!

You know what?

If I read this in the Daily Mail, I would think GOODNESS, WHAT A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED SHIT-STIRRING BIG FAT LIE

So it's a good job I didn't.

SuePurblybilt · 10/01/2012 13:31

I like Notthefullshilling very much.

alemci · 10/01/2012 13:32

Fair enough. I don't blame OP. I think this does go on.

mandyj1977 · 10/01/2012 13:35

Some one reported me to dole for claiming benefit while partner lives with me. the person just assumed that we were living 2getha illegally but back fired n them when they were informed that when he moved in first thing i did was go down and stop income support! and the dole informed me that a complaint hd been made even tho i no longer claimed and also told me who it was. the person who reported me does the double as well claim for a house they do not live in while she live with her OH!! hope you got all the facts right before you made that ca

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2012 13:38

I had a message deleted? May I ask for the reason? I was not offensive and I think I should be allowed to say if I do not believe something but if that contravenes the rules please do let me know.

Triggles · 10/01/2012 13:41

catgirl same here. My post wasn't offensive or break rules either, but was deleted, with no explanation, even though I asked for one by email.

I find it insulting that other posts in other threads can be blatantly disablist or nasty and don't get pulled, but some get pulled for no apparent reason. Boggles the mind.

Triggles · 10/01/2012 13:42

good lord... that'll teach me to type with a 2yo climbing all over me..

"wasn't offensive and didn't break rules"...

Notthefullshilling · 10/01/2012 13:43

Thank you Sue, can I count you as my first ever mumsnet pal?

SuePurblybilt · 10/01/2012 13:43

Ah gwan with ya, you're no more new than I am Grin

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2012 13:44

I mentioned grooming unicorns, is that...............taboo?

Triggles · 10/01/2012 13:45

did you mention the unicorn's horn? perhaps they misunderstood and thought you meant horny? Grin

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2012 13:45

were you given a reason triggles? seems odd. i have been far more outspoken on other thread.

Notthefullshilling · 10/01/2012 13:47

Only started last week me.

Triggles · 10/01/2012 13:47

nope, none at all. it was actually deleted within 10 minutes of posting. And I've reread it a couple times. Much worse posts on here and other threads. No breaking of rules that I'm aware of. So I'm baffled.

I'd suggest that the OP reported it, but why would she? She has no idea what my children got for Christmas.... Grin

SuePurblybilt · 10/01/2012 13:48

Ah for goodness sakes, I was deleted too. And Compo's Jimmy post.

Shame on you MNHQ Grin

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2012 13:49

the jimmy post was a thing of beauty and genius.

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2012 13:49

Triggles · 10/01/2012 13:52

you know, we can't afford new unicorns... how come YOU can afford them, catgirl??

are you on benefits?? Hmm

KurriKurri · 10/01/2012 13:54

Wow I was deleted too, - for being a fan of Jimmy Hill apparently - oh well fair enough I suppose, he's not to everyone's taste.

catgirl1976 · 10/01/2012 13:54
