AAARGH! ok, not actually going to be violent, before anyone tells me off, I am so annoyed though, his brother has invited us to Paris to see him and his girlfriend. To celebrate their birthdays (twins) They live abroad, we barely see them, only met her once, seems lovely. They have only met DD once. Their xmas present to us is to pay for the hotel and eurostar, was very excited, they told us three weeks ago...

So I am looking into the trains today, DH just happens to ask 'Do i need a passport for this?' Cause mine runs out..erm...today!

We were meant to be taking cash over to his brother so he could buy an engagement ring for her there, can't bring that much cash out of where they live.

I am sat here fuming, have looked into it online but it isn't possible to renew it before then, he is Irish.

I happen to say how ridiculous it is that he has left it to run out - he is all defensive, well I didn't know we were going anywhere, this is so typical - basically he would have just assumed I would remind him or something, he has business trips all the time abroad, has one in May, he just doesn't take bloody responsibility for anything like this, if left to him everything paperwork related would just be a mess.

I am so annoyed! I was really looking forward to it!

drinkfeck just because of the Confused face, I will explain..

they live abroad - very abroad. they are going to paris on business, and it works for us to go and meet them there, as we barely see them, once a year at most.

minimiss he knew it ran out this month, he talks about when he came over, because it is when he met me, this is when he got the original passport, he also goes abroad a lot. We also had nearly 4 weeks notice about the trip, he has chosen to think about it possibly being out of date two weeks before we go. I must have told him umpteen times 'you'll have to get a new one soon'. I know when mine runs out without looking, becuase I know when I got it last - the year we got married. So I would keep it in mind, leading up to that year - especially if I knew it had to be sent back to Ireland and take up to 8 weeks normally.

flying spagetti,we are hoping to sort an emergency one - I think had it not occurred to him we would have been doing it anyway, as he would have been hunting for it that morning and wouldn't have checked! Amazing that so many people seem to have similar stories though, you would think it would be one of the things they checked!
